That worked out well didn't it? I guess I will quit doing power rankings.....

I'm guessing you didn't predict Layshia Clarendon to be a front-runner for MVP either (I didn't). Smile

That sort of thing can happen when you rely too much on algorithms and develop a complete and total lack of intuition

I can believe that SAS could be #8 but the Wings at #3 and Sparks #1 is pure fantasy in my opinion.

I'd much rather be happy than right. Mercury losses are the second best thing to Dream wins and I don't know how long Clarendon with be playing well, but its fun while it lasts.

Pretty interesting - only 3 teams have a winning record so far.

They didn't really give a reason why NYL is more powerful than ATL.

And SEA has beaten PHX twice so far this season. Aren't they more powerful, or is there a little projecting of PHX getting it together going on.

How is Phoenix above Seattle? Seattle beat them twice and has a better record (as does Washington at this point, but at least Phoenix beat them).

I'm surprised the Fever went up considering the embarrassment to New York.

I'll be happy to see Dallas back from their injury and suspension woes. If they can get everyone's health together at the same time they have potential.

Yeah, there's no way that Seattle can be behind Phoenix at this point. Better record, 2-0 head-to-head, what? Phoenix has looked horrible. Ask a Mercury fan!

The more things change the more they remain the same. The west has two super dominant teams and the rest of the league is fighting for scraps and crumbs. Rolling Eyes

When the West continues to pick up No. 1 draft picks, that's what happens.

11 former No. 1 picks are still starters in the league. Of those, all but two play in the West and all of those 9 play for the teams that one them in the draft lottery.

When one conference keeps getting handed franchise players, that's what happens.

Another reason this new balanced schedule is a good thing. No more artificial inflation of team record due to playing in a weaker conference. Therefore draft picks will now finally be allocated "fairly" under the system.

Still interesting that if the lottery was today, two teams from the West and two teams from the East would be in the lottery with a Western team having the best chance at getting #1 once again..

True, although I'm guessing that very few people would dispute that the Stars need to be in the lottery.
Hopefully the Wings can start picking themselves up now that their key players are all available (thus putting the Mercury back into the lottery mix Twisted Evil )

They delayed the power rankings until today because of "big events" on Tuesday. Well, there's another big event on Friday, so they may have well just blown off the Power Rankings for the week, using that logic.

Rankings should be more stable than this if they're good. Dallas jumps up 6? I guess it's the "Diggins is all the way back" factor, or maybe the "Dallas just beat my favorite team twice" factor.

Last time he spiked up PHX, only to drop them back to reality this week.
