This. She's most likely done. You don't go from being a starter on a team to getting waived due to undisclosed reasons and automatically revive your career after doing a couple of training camps and seven days. Nicky Anosike is learning this the hard way.. |
Just because it's not known to fans, doesn't mean it's not known within the WNBA circle and GMs and coaches.
As for Nicky Anosike I think her getting waived, at least from the Sparks had more to do with injuries than what happened with other teams.

I'm sure it was, the point I was making was the stunt she pulled with the Lynx. After that, her career never got back on track._________________

I've never been a Sammy booster, but I think it's fair to say she brings as much to the table as McKenith or Bias -- and I'm not convinced Whyte is a point guard.
And if she shows improvement in Europe, and ups her fitness (not saying she wasn't fit, but gets stronger and adds muscle), she's got a chance.
I think the message right now is that she needs to get better to get a roster spot, but it's possible, I think, that she can improve enough to find a home.

I actually think Phoenix should take a serious look at Prahalis for this coming season

Way ahead of you on this one. Watched it already (and was able to catch the 4th quarter when it was a live feed). Sammy had AT LEAST 4 legit assists in that game that would have been assists in any other league. I'm actually not even sure which 2 of those 4 they considered assists. And 2 or 3 of those turnovers were travels that would not have been travels in the WNBA at least. And, of course, she looked awesome as usual. Still the most skilled women's point guard going, in any league.

How is her defense? Has it improved? With better defense, I think that she could make a team next season.

Honestly her defense has never been as bad as some people on here like to say it was. Her rookie year she was on a bad team and was under a coach that really didn't focus on it. Obviously, her size will always be a little bit of an issue defensively, but shouldn't be a deal breaker because of the other stuff she brings to the table (and it's not like she's the only 5'7" or shorter player in the league). I don't think she's a liability on the floor. But back to your original question: She's always refining her game, so yes it has. I think her fitness has improved from her rookie year; she just looks more athletic. I believe her lateral quickness has improved as well.
