Hmmm... having trouble deciding who to vote for. Which team is playing at home?

Ok, I'm giving the edge to the USA

Does anyone know if Griner, Donne, Big Syl, and DT are playing? I figure Griner isn't because of her eye, but I'm curious to see if the other players are going to play.

Not sure how they could play when they aren't even there yet. I would imagine if the Sky players arrive today, they would be available to play. Mercury stars are still with the team and can't imagine them arriving anytime sooner than late tomorrow which means they would not likely play. My guess is they arrive Tuesday and we also see 1st cuts on Tuesday.

IMO

But Kia Nurse, UConn's incoming freshman, made the Canadian team. If that doesn't tip the scales!!!!!

John Altavilla reports...

John Altavilla @jaltavilla · 55m
There will be some form of roster subtraction from 17 before the scrimmage on Monday @usabasketball

John Altavilla @jaltavilla · 1h
So that means Diana Taurasi, Brittney Griner, Elena Delle Donne, etc., will not be with @usabasketball Monday

John Altavilla @jaltavilla · 1h
Those among the seven @usabasketball players who played in @wnba finals still in contention will meet the team in Paris, not Bridgeport

More from Altavilla...

John Altavilla @jaltavilla · 50m
Hard to say whether Stefanie Dolson or Bria Hartley will make it, but it seems like Breanna Stewart will @usabasketball

John Altavilla @jaltavilla · 48m
If those three can't play on @FIBA world championship, @usabasketball will need to rethink final roster of 12 it takes to Turkey

John Altavilla @jaltavilla · 49m
Geno Auriemma says @usabasketball still try to gauge how the health of Griner, Delle Donne and Fowles will ultimately play out

Can we take a moment to appreciate ESPN showing us these games. I don't remember them ever showing warm up games like this and the Red/White scrimmage before. Am I crazy?

Doug Feinberg ‏@DougFeinberg 2h
US pares its roster down to 13 for tomorrow's game against Canada; @Chiney321 @BriannJanuary @Breezyyy14 and Danielle Robinson were cut.

ESPN2 showed a warm up game against Brazil before the 2012 Olympics. And a warm up game against Great Britain on ESPN3.

I would have liked to see Chiney get a shot, but in my opinion it was between her and Nneka for a spot, and Nneka out performed her the other day, so I'm not surprised. I'd like to see her eventually in a USA uniform though, maybe she'll make the 2016 team.

her and DRob have good shot at making the team in 2016..

Even though I love Chiney as an individual, I very much doubt she or DRob will make the team. Chiney lacks the individual skills and didn't develop her left or any shooting range in college which I have blamed on TVD in the past but it's really difficult to improve these skills without enormous reps. Playing year round leaves very little time for individual development.

I disagree, many players have added, worked and changed their game while still playing year round, so I don't see that as an excuse for not being able to develop.

I think they'll certainly be in the running for a spot, but it's hard to say right now how good of a shot they have at making the team.

Kim Gaucher, is that Kim Smith? Loved watching her play on TV in the NCAA tournament.
