could this potentially be the best draft in league history?? Not the deepest, simply the best considering all the uncertainty surrounding so many picks. Heck, we're not exactly sure if Cambage will go #2. And with Vandersloot's stock skyrocketing, Xavier's early exit in the tournament(dropping Harris & Phillips' stock), plus all around uncertainty with what some teams need exactly(should LA take a PG or center?? should San Antonio take a wing or a PG??, etc.).

No.

No. There's no chance it's as strong or deep as 1999.

If we're counting college only drafts, it's not likely to match 2001 or 2004.

It is impossible to grade a draft before it takes place. Players are human. It is impossible to determine how fast or how far a player will develop her skill set. My opinion is that the best way to grade a draft is two to three years after the draft. Aaron Rodgers was drafted near the bottom of the first round. NFL coaches would not have let Aaron drop that far if they thought he would become the player that he is today.

The best thing for the WNBA and Cambage is if she can get with a team in a major city: she's a draw and will sell jerseys worldwide and nationwide. She should be a cash cow.

I see her agent already talking with Tulsa and telling them she doesn't want to go there putting Nolando in a selection/trade situation or simply bypassing her altogether.

One can only imagine what Maya Moore would produce in NY.

However, Parker did get to LA so you never know what could happen...........

Outside of a Parker, Taurasi type player, I don't know that there is such a thing as a DRAW or a CASH COW in the WNBA. Uneducated fans won't know Cambage because she didn't play NCAA ball. Reb's is a microcosm of a small market, niche sport. I am fairly certain that LESS fans in WNBA stands this season will know who she is than will know who later picks are. She won't draw unless she makes waves in her first season. She won't get endorsements unless she gets noticed.

I don't see Pokey taking Vandersloot at #three. Chicago really needs a big - it will be Lavender or Harris.

Pokey is something of an unknown quantity. Nobody knows what she likes or what she might do.

I either see Chicago drafting Harris or getting Harding. If they don't get Harding, I'd assumer Prince will start at point and then they will need a post player to complement Fowles.

I'm sure this will get me pummeled by Minnesota fans but,

Augustus to Chicago for the #3 pick, followed by the #3 and #4 pick to Tulsa For the #2. Yes, It keeps Minnesota very young but Moore and Cambage together for up to 4 years on rookie contracts with the other players around them makes Minnesota sick for years to come.

Minn
Whalen/Horbuckle
Wiggins/Wright
Moore/Maiga-Ba
Brunson/McWilliams/Houston
Cambage/Anosike

Tulsa can draft Vandersloot and their choice of Harris/Lavender/Pedersen, and could still pick up Dunlap or Robinson with the #7.

Tulsa
Vandersloot/Riley (Latta signed by NY)
S. Robinson/D. Robinson
Swoopes/Holt/Jones
A. Harris/Jackson/
Black/Ohlde

Maybe Prince and Christon (and Chi 1st round 2012 pick) to Washington for Harding and (Smith)?

Chi
Harding/Canty
(Smith)/Perkins/Thorn
Augustus/Young
Kraay/Bass/(or LWH if she gets waived)
Fowles/2nd round draft pick (Swords) and/or waiver wire Hollingsworth?

Was
Prince/(Smith)/Haynie or Houts?
Beard/Ajevon
Christon/Coleman
Langhorne/#11 Breeland/Monroe
Melvin/waiver wire Adair or Hollingsworth?

I have no idea what to do with Smith, it would be best if she could stay in Washington, maybe throw her in with the Chicago Trade for Chicago 2012 first round pick.

I hear she likes point guards.

Shocked

I have to say that all of the trade scenarios that involve the Sky trading the #3 pick for Harding is ludicrous! The Sky was one of the worst rebounding teams in the WNBA last season. As great a player as Sylvia Fowles is she can not rebound every ball that comes off the rim. The Sky desperately need a power forward that will help Sylvia rebound the basketball for the Sky. Now if the Sky were to sign Cheryl Ford as a free agent then trading the #3 pick for Harding would make sense.

You forgot about Monique Currie who is still on the Mystics team.

Compare that lineup with this one if the Shock dealt with the Lynx directly:

Anosike + #4 + #13 + #14 for #2

Vandersloot/(Latta or Riley)
S Robnison/M Jones/K Alexander (with #14 pick)
Holt/Swoopes
Jackson/(Dunlap or Pedersen with #7 pick)
Anosike/Black

(Deal #13 pick and/or McCants/Holt for another player or future consideration)

Which roster would be better for Tulsa?

Kachine Alexander should not make a final roster. Love her, but no.

How come? I think she'd be perfect for his (old) system. She works hard.
She had 18 pts, 11 reb, 9 ast in her last NCAA tourney game and gave Gonzaga all they could handle.

Anyway, that would be a #13 or #14 pick and flexible to whoever would fall to them at that spot.

She probably shouldn't make a real roster but she has a good chance to make the Tulsa roster. She fits the system well and she's certainly as good as some of what they have.

Seeing her in person multiple times, Kachine does not have the offensive game. And I'm not just talking about her jump shot. Someone like Armintie Price is someone I would relate to Kachine as far as being a defensive specialist, but Price's offense is leaps and bounds ahead of Kachine's, and that says something. Would be surprised if Kachine made a final roster, even Tulsa's.

When I saw Kach play in high school, I doubted she would make much of an impact at the next level. She proved me wrong, so I am not counting her out just yet.

People underestimate the jump from college to the pros. Kachine is 5'9". The height of most point guards in the WNBA. Yet she has absolutely no jump shot, poor ball handling. She is a great rebounder and defender and brings energy, hustle and passion. Teams can find those qualities in someone else who can also provide on the offensive end.

I kind of forgot about Loree Moore, but I also think because Sloot can Shoot and Moore and Ticha have size any combination of the three can play together in the back court at certain times.

If you believe what Richardson and Whisenant said on today's conference call, Pohlen isn't getting past 7, and certainly not past 10.
