ATL out of race for best odds at #1, so it’s all IND’s if NYL makes the playoffs, or if IND keeps losing. CHI has no playoff incentive to win their last last game, so that could be interesting.

The lottery should go in inverse order of when the team last had the #1 pick. This year:
1: Indiana has never had the #1 pick
2: Washington last had the #1 pick in 1999
3: Atlanta last had the #1 pick in 2009
4: Dallas had the #1 pick in 2021

So, other than Howard, who are the front runners to go 1st round in the draft?

The first page of this thread has a couple of user mock drafts, plus a published one. I suspect now that most of the draft order is known, WNBA media sites will pump out some early mock drafts.
My top 3 are Rhyne Howard, Nal Smith, and Naz Hillmon (hopefully she’s working on expanding her game).
Others are Shakira Austin and Cunane. I have a healthy skepticism of Austin since she hasn’t really lived up to high expectations. She left a great basketball school in Maryland because she didn’t want to be pigeonholed as a center. It looked like they were using her as a center at Ole Miss from what I’ve seen. And Candace Parker or Aja Wilson she is not.

The mock draft on Lines has a decent mix of names in it imo. Can't think of anyone in particular whom they left out.

I was under the impression that she left because she wanted to play more on the perimeter in a 5-out system, but not necessarily stop being a center. But at least statistically speaking, I agree – it sure looked like she was a conventional center for Ole Miss. She didn't even average at least one 3PT attempt per game. Since I didn't really watch her, I have no idea how much "perimeter skill" she gained. Maybe others can speak to that.

Other than Howard, Nalyssa Smith is my second favorite prospect. I could see her doing well. Other people who I think could potentially end up in the lottery are Ashley Joens (Iowa State), Naz Hilmon (Michigan), Shakira Austin (Ole Miss), and the two UConn guards I’ll never count out Uconn players. My controversial take is that I could see Anastasia Hayes playing her way into the lottery. She looked good as a Freshman at Tennessee, and played really well at Middle Tennessee. She averaged 26, 5, and 5 last season. It will be interesting to see how she does back in a tougher conference. Her biggest flaw is her shooting. Her 3 point percentage, and free throw percentage will need to see a bump. There have been worst picks in the lottery before.

Rhyne Howard
Shakira Austin
Naz Hillmon
Elissa Cunane
Destini Henderson
Rae Burrell
Ashley Joens
Khalya Pointer
NaLyssa Smith
Lexie Hull
Chloe Bibby
Christyn Williams
Katie Benzan
Evina Westbrook
Ariyah Copeland
Dorka Juhasz
Jessica Carter
Veronica Burton
Potentially:
Nyara Sabally
Sedona Prince
This draft looks better and deeper and everyone is Pro Rhyne for #1 but I’m still looking to see who may be more of a difference maker in more positive ways more often. Love Rhyne’s game; dislike the demeanor I feel she sometimes displays and how that affects a team.

I haven't seen her a lot, but whenever I have done so, Burrell has really stood out.
IMO Hillmon is questionable at the next level because of her size and lack of range.

The best thing about Howard is she makes the big plays when you need them. It could be a steal, a 3pt shot, or drawing a foul. She has a knack for that. It’s not something you can teach. I hate that we have the best female player we will probably ever have and she hasn’t had the supporting cast go help push us to the next level. I think she will do big things in the right situation at the next level.

It's gonna be really interesting to see how Khayla Pointer & Faustine Aifuwa play under Kim Mulkey. Pointer is a two-way lead guard who isn't a good 3PT shooter. Aifuwa is a conventional defense&rebounding type of center. Both seem to play right up Mulkey's alley with how she coaches, in that she'd be able to really refine the respective players' strengths – as opposed to making them into something they're not.
On that note, it'll be interesting to see how NaLyssa Smith & Queen Egbo do at Baylor not being under Kim Mulkey. I sure hope they don't regress, at least.

What Austin didn't want to be was strictly a low post center. I never heard her say anything about not wanting to be a center or being interested in a five-out system. "Kira" wanted to be free to use her complete game. That means handling the ball and driving to the basket when the opportunity arises as well as shooting more jumpers.
As I've said before, I didn't like Austin at Maryland. However, I watched her a few times at Mississippi, and now she looks much more multi-dimensional. Couple that with superior athletic ability in terms of fluidity of movement for a tall player, and I think she has a higher ceiling than any post player in the draft. In terms of production, her stats this past season were as good or better than Smith and Cunane. Austin's numbers aren't as good as Hillmon's, but as others have noted, Hillmon has to prove that she is more than just an undersized low post scorer.

That clears things up for me. It sounds like Austin just wanted more free reign over the system she was in – which is to say, a bigger role. Sometimes transfers like that work out, sometimes it falls short. In this case, a player with her natural talent who wanted to expand her game seems legit when it comes to moving up to the next level. I would like to see her take 1-2 3s per game next season, just to see if she'd be any good at it.
She better hope a coach like Laimbeer doesn't draft her, where she'd probably go back to being a low-post-only type of player.

I like Pointer. She has a swagger about her. But she’s more like a player who might build her resume overseas for a few seasons before getting a crack at a WNBA roster (think Wheeler). WNBA teams don’t have the roster size or patience to develop players. See, Chelsea Dungee.
If your list is a draft ranking, it’s inconceivable to me that Pointer would get drafted ahead of Smith, unless Smith has some kind of disastrous season (new coach?) and probably not even then.
Olivia Nelson-Ododa should get a mention. Compared to Austin, she may not be as skilled as her, but she’s trained at UConn. That should be worth quite a bit.
Another thing about Austin, she went to 4 different high schools and two different colleges. Is that a matter of trying to improve yourself, or a sign of a malcontent? Could she be the next Anigwe with a bad attitude towards the coaches?

I don't know if Austin "went" to four high schools, but she played at three. Based on her father's comments, it sounds like he's the one behind her moves. I don't know many kids who are good at resisting pushy parents. I have no idea if he is also behind her transfer to Mississippi. The assistant coach who recruited Austin at Maryland is now at Mississippi. Supposedly, she didn't know he was switching jobs, but I'll leave it up to people to decide for themselves. As far as Maryland goes, they've had other well-known transfers including Destiny Slocum, Kiara Leslie, Taylor Mikesell, and Jenna Staiti. Not necessarily saying anything is wrong with Maryland. There's just a lot of movement these days. People enter the transfer portal to test the waters even if they end up staying put.
