Added these two to my Utube folder. (posted on another thread)
The first is just Joplin, Summer Time, live, decent sound and video.
The second is just about the base solo, (around 1:00) as near as I can tell, it's from Crossroads guitar festival.
If anyone has similar solos or base jamming, would love to hear it.

Ok, so I will add one more, then I will give ya'll some peace.
This one is an absolute classic. I remember hearing this one on top 40 radio, in the 60's, I was just a kid...
This is the original, and it turned out to be the original recording, and if you watch real close, you'll see Johnny reading the lines off a frigg'n piece of paper...

OFFS!
So I found this song last night, and it's an old frigg'n song, and the damned link is blocked.
It's called Sway, by Dean Martin, it's frigg'n good, buy it... |

OK, so most of you will not get this one, but this is Chris Rea.

I first got turned on to this guy in Russia, and you really have to listen to his stuff, all of it, first it's hybrid music, way ahead of it's time.
Second, his best songs are metaphors, here is one,

Here is another,

Another good one is sorta a blues thing,

Oh Van....I loved Janis! I went to a concert when I was a student at UCSB in the 60s--the headliner was Country Joe & the Fish, but the opening act stole the show... Big Brother & the Holding Company. Janis was completely wonderful. An unforgettable experience.

I am going to add this one, the quality is not there, but just the same I'm adding it.

I remember, and it was some time ago, but I remember when Martina sang this song at the Grammies, she blew the doors off the place, standing "O".
Now a days, if you want to win American Idol this, American's got talent that, any singing contest you take a chance, you try to sing this song.
Martina is forty something, and she can still blow the doors off anybody who even thinks they can sing this...
I think that is the reaction of the crowd, they know who owns this song, and, maybe there ain't so many years left... |

Oh for fucks sake!
This is really funny, because the kid apparently had a record deal, but like, forget about it, she ain't no cutesy singer, she plays guitar and she kicks ass.

Talk about your stuck on stupid. Not only is this girl good, she is arguably, the best, if not, top five, the best guitarist in the world.
Period. |

OK, one more time,.
In 1993, at least I think it was 1993. this guy, Colin Powell, he wrote this book. Well, and if you have not read the book, you should.
Anyway, buried in the book, he has this line. To set it up, he was a manager, a general, a muckety muck, a smuck.
So, as he progressed up the ladder, he of course had this desk, and it had a glass top, so on this desk, he wrote, like on yellow sticky dos, well he wrote axioms.
One of his axioms, was, always check small things...
So, back to the point, Ms. whatever, rather obvious, ain't it? |

First of all, I love the blues, so maybe
that is what this is about.
Anyway, I woke up one Sunday morning.
Since this is about some person, I have actually read every word, and listened to every note, not minutes, but hours of video.
So let's cut to the chase. What in the hell does Vann have to say.
I think it would be this.
First, it would be Stevie Ray Vaughn. Yea, I know, it's like if you don't do blues, you are like clueless.
When Santana speaks about him, it is like he is still alive, it is like, hey, try this,
Extraordinary...
