*Shrugs* It was a run-of-the-mill (non-windmill) dunk from someone we won’t be seeing much of after her Stanford days are done, all right.

Dang. What did Fran do to you? I didn't realize #FuckThePac was so salty |
I promise this isn't related to that lol, though clearly I have been salty lately.
It's just that every time a wbb player dunks, it's exciting only because it's rare. Otherwise, wbb players just don't have the hops to being able to get artistic or creative with dunking that we see on the men's side, which is partially why we don't see them dunk all that often. Just barely raising one's arm enough above the rim is pretty much all we're gonna get. Like, I can understand why it is exciting to most wbb fans – the rareness of it all – I just don't find it all that exciting myself. Honestly I get more scared that the player's gonna either miss embarrassingly or hurt herself because of said lack of verticality – in that way, I feel like a layup is higher %, not that it matters in a blowout. Basically I'm of the opinion, why do it once if you're not gonna do it regularly? And again, we won't see much of Belibi after her Stanford playing days are over, since in all likelihood she will not be turning pro, so it's not like we'll be able to see her do this at the WNBA level – as much as I'd love to see her be good enough to turn pro.
It's hard for me to explain why I don't care for wbb players dunking succinctly, so idk if any of that made sense, but yeah. 😬 Also hope it doesn't come across as sexist, especially cuz I'm not trying to say that I think basketball is better with dunking in it. One more also: This is definitely not me saying I want the rims lowered either.
The one wbb player in the world who could dunk with regularity if she wanted to – and even she doesn't do it nearly as often as I think she should, and yes I think she should since it'd be a high-% shot for her – is sitting in a Russian detention center right now...

Highlighting dunks because they're rare reminds everyone that they *are* rare, which then places WBB in a position to be contrasted with MBB and lose the comparison handily.
They're fun when they do happen, and happen without blatant preparation, though.

Late to this, but...
While I don't quite share @Stormeo's salt, what I like about Fran Belibi is that she does an excellent job of illustrating that dunking is not a basketball skill. Like, she's probably the only player on her team who's dunked in a game, but she's been at Stanford for three years, and she isn't even good enough to start? And who was the last WCBB player who dunked in a game, and didn't get drafted?

I would like to see her start. Alongside Jones and Brink. The problem is that Jones has no/little outside shot so the three of them would clog up the middle too much and likely get in each other's way on offense. Brink can float around outside a bit but she's also best closer to the basket. It's a nice problem for Coach to have really.
