There appears to be a Boomers game going on now

http://www.fibalivestats.com/matches/4/03/82/97/19IAMa7dWj9H6/

Through 3Q the score is Spirit 70 - Boomers 69

Cambage has 17 pts (8/11), 1/1 3P%, 6 reb, 2 to in about 21 min

Lynx's Rachel Jarry seems to be doing well also.
She has 13 pts, 6 reb, 3 ast, 3 to

[edit:] Boomers lost 81-93

Cambage with 19 pts (9/12), 1/1 3P%, 8 reb, 0 ast, 3 to in 29:55
(she only took one shot in the final period)

I think that Jarry is going to have a great season and really be the 2nd option on the Boomers.

Thanks for the clip, listening to Liz, I have to admit I didn't know anything she was talking about, sports in Australia. I suppose its about the same as a Brit talking soccer teams in Europe to me. A lot going on around the world...

looks like she is forgetting how to shoot free throws. that was something that impressed me about her - that she could hit them. But maybe that means she's getting some post instruction...maybe from Shaq.

For a completely random mention, Cambage's meeting with the Queen was shown and joked about on the UK panel show Have I Got News For You this week. They called her team the 'Bulleen Bloomers', and pronounced her name like it rhymed with cabbage, but it was still bizarre seeing her pop up on UK television.

Can be seen about two minutes into the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7CcwpgqEh4

This starts out with Round 4 Bulleen game footage. At about 11:15 there's a 30-sec newpiece on Cambage

How? How does a player that tall not routinely get as many rebounds as Brunson or even Anosike? Double digit rebounds in ONE game? Shocked Crying or Very sad

Haha Shades I share your indignation! How dare she support her clubs major sponsor! In a world where sponsors for womens sports fall off trees? Don't forget the mantra - everything in moderation. Lets keep it real!

Well, perhaps Australian pancakes are more healthier? Razz

Still, that is one big-ass stack of pancakes! I doubt even IHOP would serve that many on a stack! Surprised

This seems to be the amount of calories that Kristin Haynie is supposed to be consuming per day, correct? Wink

Rebounding is affected by more things than height. Quickness and aggressive positioning (which often entails uncalled fouling - i.e. pushing and shoving and grabbing and holding) are important. Cambage is not quick and right now doesn't engage in aggressive positioning very often. But at her size I have a feeling the refs will not let her get away with anywhere near as much as a shorter player in the uncalled fouls department.

I'm a 190lb guy, and I eat a lot... but about 1/3 of that stack (plus the butter Wink ) would fill me up.

Shock hopes to win draft lottery
Quote:
Before making personnel decisions, the Shock will pick new leadership. Coach and general manager Nolan Richardson resigned last season. Teresa Edwards served as interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

The Shock will hire a vice president of basketball operations and Swetoha said the candidate list has been narrowed to three individuals. Telephone interviews have taken place and face-to-face interviews are expected to follow.

"We are hoping to have this resolved or finalized if not late November, then early, early December," Swetoha said.

Either that or her last game was against the West Coast Waves Wink

Probably a combination of both though. She is starting to look like the pre-Tulsa Liz again thankfully.

There are lots of RFAs coming off rookie contracts that Tulsa might pick up. Some may not be franchise players, but they are still better than what Tulsa had.
Ajavon
Anosike
Bobbitt
Carson
Hornbuckle

Not true at all. I would take Latta over at least three players on that list (Ajavon, Hornbuckle, Bobbitt, and Swanier), and a player like Tiffany Jackson is better than the likes of Pringle and Anosike. Obviously Wiggins and Carson are upgrades, while Young and Houston could be.

True about Latta but Ajavon is better then Riley and Lennox so she would be a improvement at the SG spot because playing Swoopes(or Holt) for 34 minutes at the 2 is not going to work next season.

Liz Cambage POTW

Against the Waves the 203cm centre registered 33 points on 77 per cent field goal shooting, making 13 of 17 shots, to go along with 14 rebounds and three blocks.

While against the Lightning, Cambage shot an even higher percentage to finish with 28 points on 86 per cent from the field, making 12 of 14 shots including two of two from the three-point line, to go along with nine rebounds and three blocks.

There is a league-wide break on the Xmas and New Year weekends, but individual teams also have the occasional weekend off during the season, as Bulleen did in Round 8. Some other weeks (eg. rounds 10 & 11) they will play 2 games in a round, usually on the Fri & Sun.

No one asked if Shanna Crossley is going to be back.

Though I understand why, that really didn't say much of anything. May God help this complete cesspool of a franchise because the mortals aren't doing anything right.

Boy, how times change. Who would have thought this would have been the case two years ago (as it pertains to Anosike)? The All-Star season really looks like an aberration at this point, for both her and Charde Houston.
