| There is no automatic check, they need to be reported. Send a PM to me or one of the mods when you see one. It will be anonymous and the avatar will be removed.

Well apparently I am a "repeat offender" (though I change my avatars about once every six months or so. Today, my avatar vanished after being up for a few weeks, so I assumed it was in the limits. My new avatar that I put up today I thought also was within the limits, but not only was it removed but now I can't put up a new one.
In any case I think I can hardly be a "repeat offender", though it is well known that I am pretty tech backward as it took me a year to figure out how to use the "quote function", so I may have screwed up a couple of times. In any case, I'm not a happy camper about this.
And as far as "jpg, gif or png and the path (url) has a limit of 100 characters, all of these conditions have to be met to link to an offsite avatar", is just Greek, of which I do not speak, to me.
So I am asking that my avatar function be re-enabled or I won't be hanging around here much anymore (which I trust would not be your intention) |

| i am having a real difficult time getting my avatar to work. i tried uploading a picture into photobucket and then using the link they give you from that website. any ideas of where i can get my pictures?

Did you try all the different links that photobucket offered or just one?
I had problems once trying to load my picture but just tried all the links till one of them worked. Not sure if this will help your situation.

I use photobucket myself and never have any dramas.
Did you take note of what was written above? In particular:

| I've been having a problem with my avatars showing up. they're posted in .jpg file and in the right pixel size but all I get is a red X. I've never had this problem in all my years on rebkell.

The link you have used (http://dydeksigned.jpg/) is not a valid URL. Looks like you have tried to use an image file on your computer rather than linking to a file that's on the web.
