I have to say that for the first time since the 1999 WWC that their seems to be buzz around town for this tournament. It was actually the main topic at work today. Between the USA match on Tuesday to the Mexico-England match ending up a 1-1 draw. I work second shift in a restaurant where some of the staff are Mexican & Colombian. All they talked about today was how Mexico managed to "steal" a draw against England and are looking foward to the USA-North Korea match-up as well as Colombia's first game on Tuesday against Sweden. Very pleased that women's football & the WWC is getting the attention it deserves.

Is anyone else seeing a lot more buzz around their town/workplace regarding the WWC??

It's getting some nice press here in Australia, considering football is a second tier sport behind all the other football codes. Games and highlights are being shown on free to air tv which is great. Also, one player on the squad has also represented the Australian cricket team as well so she's gotten a fair bit of press http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ellyse_Perry

Considering Marta has name recognition on par with most male soccer superstars here, it's getting pretty good press and coverage as well.
