Williams was a really good high school player, and I thought she was a great get for the Longhorns.

Did she lose her redshirt year?

She should be OK for a medical redshirt. Texas has only played 6 games and is scheduled for at least 28 so that should work under NCAA rules.

Actually, that will not work. I believe the rule is that a player can only play in approximately one-sixth of a team's games.

If I remember right the rule is not more than 20% of the teams games... so Texas needs to play 30 then playing in up to 6 games is OK (as long as none are in the second half of the season).

Does that include tournament games?

When Kiesha Brown blew her knee out a few weeks into the 1996 season here at Georgia, it was announced that the team would have to make it to the Sweet Sixteen in order to get her a redshirt. So, the percentage criteria included tournament games back then.
