Guess that answers who will be a #1 seed; even if they lost, I think they stay a #1 seed. MSU is 7th, so I don't see it.

1 Stanford 28-2 1089 2
2 LSU 29-2 1059 1
3 Tennessee 26-4 1022 5
4 North Carolina 26-3 971 4
5 Duke 28-3 909 6
6 Baylor 24-3 894 7
7 Michigan State 27-3 871 8
8 Ohio State 28-4 829 3
9 Rutgers 24-5 813 9
10 Notre Dame 26-4 730 10
11 Texas 20-7 646 11
12 Minnesota 24-6 623 15
13 Connecticut 21-7 576 14
14 Texas Tech 21-6 518 13
15 Temple 26-3 485 16
16 DePaul 25-4 426 12
17 Kansas State 21-6 402 17
18 Iowa State 22-5 327 20
19 Vanderbilt 22-7 322 18
20 North Carolina State 21-7 215 19
21 Georgia 22-9 206 21
22 Penn State 19-10 152 23
23 Boston College 19-9 91 22
24 Wis.-Green Bay Phoenix 26-3 80 _
25 TCU Lady Frogs

A team that has gotten it's act together recently is Texas. They seem to be in much better shape than when UConn played them in January. Whoever wins tonight's ACC Championship will be the last #1 seed, along with Stanford, Tennessee, and LSU. It's a shame, really, because even if MSU destroys Minnesota, they won't get a #1 seed.

The polls have absolutely no bearing on seeding. In 1998 La Tech was #4 in the polls and got a 3 seed.

Figures. Just when my skepticism about the Cardinal started to wane I watched a replay of yesterday's gams against USC ...

I still can't see them in the Finl Four.

But they don't play anyone...Pac10 may not be great, but it's not as bad as La Tech's opponents.

Stanford is barely in the top 50 of SOS and #7 in RPI. They have only 4 wins against the RPI top 25, fewer than any of the #1 seed candidates.

Would you like to wager a beverage at the ASG that Stanford is a #1 regardless of the outcome of the PAc10 championship pilight?

Well, no, because they might get it if they win and I think they will win.

They won't get it if they lose.

I don't expect Stanford to get a #1 seed but if the committee wants to give us one, I won't object Wink

Keegan there's no way the #1 team in the country wins their conf. tourney and DOESN'T get a #1, so start expecting it! Wink

The committee supposedly doesn't pay attention to polls. I guess we'll see whether they stick to that or not. I think we deserve a high #2.

Well I sure hope you're right about ignoring the polls based on the Coach's poll.

UNC jumps to #2 over LSU? C'mon!
