I am so sick of this! About 8 straight days now.

Did anyone see the Today show this morning? One of the funniest gaffes I've seen in a long time. They switch to some reporter in a row boat or equivalent to emphasize how flooding is someplace, and while she's reporting it, two guys go walking by with the water only up to their shoetops. Laughing

I'll trade your rain for our never-ending sunlight (though it was cloudy today for a change).

Hey, I'll take it. My blinds are weeping rust and my windowsill is all wet.

I saw that it was raining a lot up there. We (Texas) REALLY need it. I'm pretty sure there is a cylinder of some kind over my house that blocks rain because even when it does rain here, I don't get any. When rain does hit the ground, it is swallowed up by the dust it creates from the parched ground. It doesn't even make mud.......... Confused

I hate rain. I could never live in this weather year-round. It's so depressing.

Today is the 8th straight day of rain here in CT. We have received a heck of a lot of rain in the last 8 days...probably about 12" with a couple more to come before the rain ends sometime tomorrow.

I better not be hearing the weather forecasters on the local channels bitchin' about there being a drought after this.

i heard that. i spent 14 years in the pacific northwest, and the rain literally drove me away. to california, where i could never tire of the sun. don't know if it's still true, but at the time (early '80s), the largest number of people coming into the northwest were from cali and the largest number of people coming into cali were from the northwest . . .

I grew up in a place that had rainfall an average of 310 days per year. The motto there was....if you can't see the top of the mountains, it's raining. If you CAN see the top of the mountains, it's going to rain.

I guess 8 days in a row wouldn't phase me much.

And I heard that.

I think the last part is still true, as well.

Hey dts sorry about all that rain. I just heard on the weather news that there was some sort of landslide in Montville. Is this so? And where in Montville? I couldn't find any info on this.

And on the 9th day it rained Evil or Very Mad .

In the past 9 days, there have been 16 inches of rain in Hartford, and I would not be surprised if there has been more than that in Manchester.

I am envious.

We actually might be getting some rain in the upcoming week but it doesn't look like nearly enough. Damn climate change!

Yeah, Sydney is definitely changing.
Usually a cricket match virtually guarantees rain there! Razz This time... nothing so far. Confused

We could use some here in Perth too, actually.
I'm quite happy for my "garden" to shrivel up & die, but apparently all my neighbours are quite attached to theirs. The bore water in our area smells like rotten eggs, so anything that avoids people having to turn on their sprinklers would be a good thing.

Yeah, I think the more northerly folk among us are in for more. We finally got free here in NYC. There's this really bright stuff going on. It hurts my eyes. And the sky's this funny blue color I haven't seen in a while.

It threatened to rain today but the clouds didn't yield much. They're such a cocktease sometimes.

Rain periods predicted later on in the week - yay!
