Yes, good thoughts go with you Rdog. Sorry for all the personal troubles - they can really pile up sometimes. Thanks for sharing and hopefully things will start looking up for you soon.

Jen or Nick, Whichever of you is going to take over, I have a suggestion. Since you will need access to change the info in the first couple of entries, I would suggest that you start 2 new threads - one that just has the stuff like Raven put in the first few entries and a second one where we can debate rules and make snarky remarks. That way the important stuff is easy to find and the thread doesn't get so out of control. Just a thought.

And Apocolo, how long will you need to make your choices? My two Cents: I'm thinking we need to set some times for when the various stages should begin. For myself, my work does need to get done Very Happy so it would be helpful to know when the stages will occur. When we start with the FA's I would suggest a definite start time and everyone should have 2 or 3 hours in which to submit - with sufficient overnight break time - so that we aren't waiting days between each one.

Good luck!

sorry to hear that raven,

I think it's a good idea to have a separate thread to start keep it going.

if im able to take over, i say we start 1 new thread for the rules and just leave this one for the debating since its already started here lol i would also still like to be the monarchs owner if the other owners agree to that. i know its weird for the commish to own a team but its not as if imma cheat with it lol

as soon as i hear from ravendog, we will decide whether were going to keep going or we can always just start over.

From what Raven said, I suspect he won't even be on the boards for awhile. It sounded like he was fine if we just continue on as is.

I agree, I believe Jen should start a new thread to begin her job as commissioner.

Guys, I also changed one of the rules of having 15 players on a roster during the offseason.

When will we find out what players Tulsa has *or basically, what player was taken from us*

Cause it is kinda hard to do trades and stuff..as well as figuring out how to sign with free agency *and when does that start?

im trying to get ahold of Tulsa's owner to get the list. As soon as that list is posted, which it will be as soon as i get it, we will hold the FA "draft" where the remaining teams will pick their one FA to get the teams back to 11. Trades will start as soon as Tulsa's team is announced. After that, we will hold the draft and as soon as the draft is complete, we will start FA. I will find and post a list of all the FA for the upcoming season. Remember, teams can core two players...or is it one now? i can never keep track of that crap. Hell, well put it to a vote with the owners.

please remember i didnt make up this game so im kinda winging it. i really have no idea wtf im doing lol. what we do after FA, im still trying to figure out lol

I think RavenDog's original plan was that everyone on our rosters were simply on our rosters. Nobody is a free agent, therefore, we do not have to worry about re-signing a UFA on our team before someone else does.

So the only way to move players is to waive or trade them. So I don't think coring is necessary?

Also, in the initial FA signing, we can simply sign any player we want who has played 2007, 2008, 2009 I believe.

I would think anyone is available, even if they have never played in the league or tried out. Obviously you won't want to sign a scrub or a friend of yours since we are trying to build a contender. Razz

I think RavenDog's rule was anyone who had played in the league in 2007, 2008, or 2009.

But I think it should be anyone from anywhere and anytime.

i think anywhere anytime is fine. I mean the WNBA brings people in who are from all over the world.

But then the game is no longer realistic....especially if teams are signing retired players (i.e. Lobo, Palmer, Azzi, etc.) or players who will never come back again (i.e. Stepanova, Vodichkova, etc.)

I say stick with players who played (even just one game) or was drafted in the W since 2007

I agree with this. Only players who actually have a chance to participate or make a 2010 team. Which means, I believe the Sporks start with 10 since Leslie announced her retirement already...

I think FAs should be somewhat realistic - like are they of a realistic age and do you really think there's a possibility you could get that player to come play? But basically I don't see why there would be more rules than that and the interpretation should be up to each owner. If anything, we could say they have to be under age 38 and be legal under regular WNBA rules.

A trade has just happened and has been approved!

The Minnesota Lynx trade F/C Tasha Humphrey, Georgia to the Tulsa Pulse for C Michelle Snow, Tennesee and F Amber Holt, MTSU.

i think we need to sit down and have a chat with all owners and get the rules sorted out before we go any further because its a bitch to have everyone arguing over it lol. if i had any idea of wtf i was doing i think it would be easier but its really not that easy because i have more of an approach of voting on stuff to get the rules set. lol

My understanding was that most people wanted to wait until after the season is over and hopefully Raven and Jrae issues are more under control so they can participate again.
