Thanks, really towering thanks, to the several board junkies who answered my questions a couple of weeks ago; some of your choice quotes have now gone into the big ol' feature journalism piece I'm now finishing About Being a Lynx Fan. (Chances are the essay will appear in the Believer, www.believermag.com, during the W season; as with almost any feature journalism, it may appear elsewhere, or never appear at all.)

Probably all of you know more than I do about, for example, how to evaluate point guards, and most of you know way more than I about the league's history. If anyone wants to see the draft essay and get a chance to correct my many mistakes, please let me know by emailing steve- at- accommodatingly- dot- com, or by responding to this thread, in the next few days.

Stever and RebKell especially: please let me know if you have any problem with my mentioning this board's URL in print; given who reads the Believer (it's mostly a literary magazine) I very much doubt our VeFriend will be drawn here that way.

I would be willing to look it over. I have a fairly good grasp on league history.

No problem mentioning the site, VeProf has been invited to come over a few times, it's his choice not to participate here.

DTS, I don't have your email address (I have pilight's): can you send that to me NOW? steve- at- accommodatingly- dot- com. I hope you dig the piece. By the way, you and the others here who coach youth league might enjoy this, from prominent economist Brad DeLong:

Yes! I assume that means you want to see the piece. But you won't see the essay until tomorrow night, and neither will anyone else who's asked, because I have to cut about 800 words from it first.
