It was a crazy night in France but that is the French league these days, It is a more open playing field.

K B Sharp helped Aix en Provence come from behind to beat Rezé with Michele Van Gorp. You can listen to her after match comments at the bottom of the page, although I would read the match report.

Wasn't Mosch with Arras last year?

Was Van Gorp playing last season? Seems like I haven't heard her name for quite a while.

Sheana Mosch played at ASPTT Arras last season.

Both Leagues are interesting for different reason.

The Russian league is the richest league in terms of money and as a result can attract most of the top players in the world which includes a host of of WNBA players. This will make it easier for WNBA fans to follow as a lot of your favorite players are in this league.

All the other top leagues in Europe do not have that type of money but that does not take away the quality of the league. For Fans of Spanish basketball or Italian to name two leagues will be able to tell you so.

What makes the French League interesting these days once you take away Bourges is that on any given night you have to come out and play, otherwise you will be beaten.

DO not get me wrong not every game is great but in every round they will 3 or 4 close games or strange results.

The French league does not attract any of the current stars of the WNBA these days simply because they are tight restrictions on budgets as clubs are getting used to the professional aspect of basketball. This does not stop the clubs picking up Rookie WNBA players and ex NCAA players.

KB Sharp is in her 3rd year in France is the only regular from the WNBA, as Moeggenberg took a year out outside the new comers.

As much as I like these players I am not sure that they are enough to drive WNBA fans away from watching the Russia Super League.

Hope it answers your question.

PS: I am a fan of the EuroLeague Women

Tanisha Wright had 9 assists by the way

She is playing in NF1 his season that is the second division in France. She is not allowed to play in the LFB because of NCAA rules.

Speaking of Michele Van Gorp, here's an article from last month:
http://www.womensbasketball-in-france.com/lfb-team-roster-news-2008-2009-2.html

I know she was an assistant coach at Colgate University.

Colgate coaching profile from 2007:

Sorry for being a little off-topic, but since we're on the subject of Van Gorp...Does anyone know the outcome of her medical malpractice lawsuit against the Minnesota Lynx in 2005? I haven't heard it in anyplace that I have read.
