Maybe it's because I am old and remember the Cold War but with the stuff Russia has been pulling I might be reluctant to sign up to play in Russia. Just saying. Not the most open, friendly country in the world right now.

Kosice? Isn't that Janel's old team? I wonder if they'll redo the mural…

Harrower won't play for UMMC this year. She wants to resolve contract and play in Australia.

I guess fans of Hammonova, Katie Douglas, etc have already discovered this, but I thought new followers of CSKA might appreciate this as much as I did. Break out your Eurodisco shoes:

I'm not too knowledgeable about overseas women's leagues, but does England or Great Britain have a league like all these other countries I see listed?

Inquiring minds just want to know. Smile

I can't find the link but I remember reading about Andrea Congreaves playing in pro ball in England, and how she was trying to help get basketball to an elite level for the 2012 Olympics

Per Dee and Sue's blog, Candace will be playing for UMMC, not CSKA like someone previously stated.

UMMC has Penny Taylor, Tweety, Cappie, and Abrosimova this year as far as I know. Asjha Jones, Sandrine Gruda, and Suzy Batkovic played last year per their roster.

There's a league. Calling it professional would be a massive stretch (or just an outright lie). The level of play is about what you'd expect as a result. You don't get many non-Brits because there's no money, and the few half-decent Brits are playing in other countries in Europe where they can at least earn a modicum of money.

Men's basketball is not big here; women's basketball isn't even the tiniest little blip on a high-powered radar.
