Thou shalt not kill, except in the case of political expediency

"You know, I don't know about this doctrine of assassination, but if he thinks we're trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it," Robertson said. "It's a whole lot cheaper than starting a war ... and I don't think any oil shipments will stop."

Reminds me of the folks that condemned Salman Rushdie.

Robertson has made controversial statements in the past. In October 2003, he suggested that the State Department be blown up with a nuclear device.

Robertson is always good for a laugh. Crying or Very sad

Robertson is not my late Grandmother's televangelist. Back in the 60s, I'd go next door to Grandma's and watch the inspirational Reverend Billy Graham on her new, big, black and white console on which the picture was improved 'cause Grandpa put aluminum foil on the rabbit ears.. Once Grandma took me in see the Reverend Billy Graham in person at the Civic Arena. I felt so blessed I cried ..

Later in life I would learn the Reverend Graham had refused to to preach in race-segregated churches; had supported abortion for rape, incest, and to save the mother's life; was friends with the Pope; objected to being the only clergy at the blessing of the troops in Vietnam, persuading Dick that the other faiths should be represented; objected to being the only clergy at George Sr's swearing in saying it was traditional to have other clergy present (George Sr refused); and would one day tell a friend "Bill, you should become an Evangelist and let Hilary run the country." Smile

I'm glad Grandma didn't have to suffer bigots who pose in Christian cloth, like Pat Robertson, and I'm glad she won't be running into them in heaven.

Billy Graham is an OK guy, but let's not kid ourselves that charlatans dressed as clergy are anything new. Charles Coughlin was spreading his anti-semitism from the first days of radio, and "revivalists" were cashing in on people's faith for many years before that.

Jammer, my occasional inspiration comes from drinking at the well of stuff like this..

Quote:
Really have so much to say in about 12 threads but no time or energy to say it.

It sometimes amazes me the stuff I see that so many others don't see. I don't attribute it to me being smarter because I'm obviously not smarter than most people here. And my eyes are going anyway. It must simply be a small and inadequate compensation for getting older.

I'll give you this much. What Tina did was very very hard to catch (see) by replaying the tape from the angle it was shot. I looked at it over and over again and said, "she didn't do anything." But it's also very obvious that Macchi just didn't 'flop'. She went down like Sinatra when Ava dumped him.

Whitmore, I believe, crosses over the pair EXACTLY at the 'decisive moment' as Cartier-Bresson called it. And that's a lot of beef to try to see through.

I personally don't know how Tina did this but you must come up with stuff like this after so many years of playing ball.

This is what happened. Don't even try to argue otherwise, because you'd be arguing that the world is flat. Take this to the bank.

Macchi was leaning back slightly and off balance. Tina snapped, and I mean snapped, Judo-like, her knee into the back of one of Macchi's thighs. The WP barely had to brush Macchi with her hand and the Italian landed on the floor like a big-a-pizza pie.

That's amore!

Tina's part of it happened in the blink of an eye. There's even a possibility, maybe placed there by intelligent design, that it was unintentional.

And that's how the woman ended up on the floor, Your Honor. God's truth

LMAO! 48 h later and I'm still savoring the Christi Thomas- Tina Thompson thread.

Jammer, the feeling is MUTUAL. Exclamation
