The Daily Camera is reporting today that one of the two players signed by McConnell-Miller last fall at Tulsa has enrolled at CU. 5-9 wing Bianca Smith from Bellaire HS in Houston wants to play for M-M and thus is now in Boulder. However, she hasn't been given a release from Tulsa, so she won't be eligible to play this fall - unless that changes.

The same article states that Yari Escalera injured a knee at the world championships and may have to undergo an MRI if it doesn't show improvement in the next two weeks.

Season ticket renewals have arrived in the mail. No interesting info was included and the schedule does not give game times with the exception of the San Juan Shootout.

The men's basketball team has recently scheduled its opening game with UNC-Wilmington for Nov. 18, the same day the women open with Cal-Fullerton, and thus there is the possibility of a double-header.

The article reported that Escalera is one of two "true point guards" on the team. Guess I'm just wondering if you feel that is accurate Mark?

I suppose it is if Susie Powers first position is point guard. However, she won't be eligible until next season. So the Buffs will really be hurting if Escaera goes down at any point this season.

If Smith were eligible immediately it would mean that Law and or Lubin would be freed up for more time at the point.
