From the beginning, Katie Smith has been the one that took me under her wing. She’s taught me a lot about myself – she’s just got that spirit, she doesn’t care if we’re down by 10, or up by 25, she’s just got that ongoing energy that always motivates me throughout the whole game. She stays on me and tells me what to do and not to do. She’s definitely my go-to man.

I really feel that a few years from now, Sylvia Fowles will be the most important figure in women's basketball. She'll be the dominant post of the league [a la Lisa Leslie] with a personality like Tamika Catchings.

She's a gem.

About 2/3 of the way into this Coach G press con, someone asks G who on the olympic team really has impressed her, and G talks about how wonderful she thinks Syl is as a player and a person.
