The women's 4x100 relay. It defines the summer Olympics for me. Comes kind of late in the games and has a sort of melancholy. After the bigger events. But it brings everyone together for a battle of the countries.

I shit you not.

I completely agree! The relays are always the most exciting because the crowd really gets into it and then there's that feeling that anything can happen. A baton can be dropped, someone can trip can take out their opponent in the next lane, an underdog can come out of nowhere and win, or the favorites can just go back and forth until the end!

Gotta love it!! Laughing

Whatever is on at the time. Anything.
Hell I'll even get into rowing or shooting if it's a close thing.

I don't know if you completely get the full-on Olympic committment/obsession, Keira. I watched sailing last time. I'd watch wrestling. I'd watch ping pong. I'd watch hopscotch if it was an event.

Laughing I've watched rowing before, and ping pong. Never watched Olympic wrestling. But yeah, I'll watch anything Olympics really.

Yeah, it's about the only time I'll watch these sports and really, they are fun. Judo and table tennis (or ping pong) are all about discipline and focus. And the hand-eye coordination part of it is really amazing.

To be honest, I prefer watching track & field to basketball, and maybe that has to do with the fact that I just expect the US to win basketball, so until the final rounds it's pretty uninteresting. However, this year will be quite different on both the men's and women's side in basketball, as there are a number of nations who could get in our anuses pretty good.

What I love about track & field.... I LOVE the 4x4 relay and the 800. I LOVE watching the final leg of those two races as the runners come around the curve for the final 100 meters. The guy or gal all the way in the rear makes that push and you can hear the crowd's cheers rise in the background as you see this sprinter race towards the front. Will he? Can she? It ends up being a photo finish. It's a beautiful thing.

The Olympics is one of the best things to happen in life for me. I love most of the sports, both mens and womens. Gymnastics, in and out vball, swimming, soccer, softball, track, just to name a few. But like other people said, if something is on, I'll more than likely watch it no matter what it is. Some of the not so common sports are very entertaining too. My life will revolve around the Olympics when they're on. Cant wait! Very Happy

The distance races are great too. You never know who's going to go out too fast and die at the end, and who may surge to the front out of nowhere.......

I'm a fan of the team sports I usually don't get to see - hockey, hockey and more hockey I love it.

I also love the handball and indoor vollyball.
Triathalon (maybe an Aussie will finally win for once...)
Cycling
All the equestrian event as well (especially the longer cross country one)

But yeah I'm with everyone else - I will watch everything and anything. We are going to bring a little tv into our office so we can have it on all day at work (on the sly of course).
