could not anticipate?
i wonder (because i really don't know) if today's rule book, which has several sections dealing with misbehavior, punches, flagrants and whatnot, looks anything like the rule book from the league's inaugural year. i would guess, um, no. i mean, you've got these players who are wont to act out - pierson, powell, taurasi - and players who can be set off - leslie, dmj, a bunch of others - so what could not be anticipated?

Stupid headline, stupid perspective for the article. As Thibault clearly told the writer, this isn't 'swift action', this is just what happens in US professional basketball every time anything like this happens. The suspensions come down before the next game played by the teams involved. Swift action my ass. And the rest of the short article really shows a lack of research and lack of thought.
But then Donna's delusional if she thinks she sent 'a clear message' so maybe the crappy article just fits with the theme.

From a former reporter's perspective, they should have interviewed Laimbeer for his response, if they were going to talk to Cooper. I'd love to hear Bill's opinion on Pierson's role in this.

The way she always looked like she'd had at least three martinis for lunch. Maybe there was something to that.
