Mercury GM Ann Meyers and Dream broadcaster/five-time Olympian Teresa Edwards will provide commentary for women's basketball, with Sky play-by-play announcer Eric Collins serving in a similar capacity for both basketball and baseball. Other WNBA connections: Monarchs broadcaster Jim Kozimor will be calling badminton, and Sparks sideline reporter Lindsay Soto is listed among the SportsDesk reporters...

Wow. Fricking John Amaechi's doing colour for our Olympic basketball coverage and yet I still feel sorry for you guys with that lineup. Meyers/Edwards is pretty painful.

Edwards is awful in the games I've listened too. Seems very nice and enjoying doing the games but not very insightful. Haven't heard Meyers.

Are you being sarcastic about John Amaechi? I don't see him on the list.

I'm in the UK. The BBC signed him to do coverage for them and he's awful at it.

From what I understand, it's never going to be Annie and Teresa. It's going to be Mike Breen and Annie or Teresa.

Oh good point, they do have Meyers and Edwards both listed as 'analysts' lower down in the article, so they shouldn't be doing games as a pair, which'll be a slight improvement. Doubt you'll get Breen for any of the women's games though. It'll probably be someone lower down the ladder.
The basketball listing says:
Quote: |
BASKETBALL:
Mike Breen, Play-by-play
Chris Carrino, Play-by-play
Mike Crispino, Play-by-play
Pete Pranica, Play-by-play
Eric Collins, Play-by-play
Teresa Edwards, Analyst
Doug Collins, Analyst
Ann Meyers, Analyst
Bob Salmi, Analyst

I'm just thrilled for T Edwards that she gets to go to another olympics in any capacity. She deserves it, and I look forward to her, whether she is insiteful or not.
