Davidson: If you could assemble a WNBA team, which five players would be your starters? Good luck this season.
Bill Laimbeer: Lisa Leslie, Tina Thompson, Katie Smith, Sheryl Swoopes and Shannon Johnson. But a Sohck player should be in there, and I'll let it go with that. |
Shannon Johnson over Bird, Teasley, and Whalen? Not bad...

Natosha (Royal Oak): Hi Bill! I read a recent newspaper article that said Kedra was on the Shock's wish list as a new free agent. Has Kedra shown you any interest in coming back to the Shock? I think the team really needs her back!
Bill Laimbeer: Kedra has expressed a desire to take some time off. SHe's been playing year-round for many years, and her season in Hungary won't be finished until the end of May - after our season starts. So, if she plays, it won't be until late in the season at best.

So it sounds like if Kedra plays next year, she'll be playing in Detroit.

Interesting that BL would have most of the starting five of the National Women's Team in Athens as his first five off the bench...all if KT Smith would have been able and Johnson is considered a toss up with Staley.
Also note that those five are all Western Conference players...must have a heart for Champions.

I was referring to the WNBA. If my dog dresses up for the US, he'll earn a gold medal too. But it's a male dog, so there's a small problem there. Besides being a dog, of course.
Kara Wolters has a gold medal for Christ's sakes...

If I could assemble a WNBA team, it would be:
Diana Taurasi
Katie Smith
Tamika Catchings
Tina Thompson
Lauren Jackson
No true PG & no true C...oh well.

LOL, I don't think BL likes DT. : ) I remember him saying he wouldn't have picked her #1 ( he said he wouldn't have picked Beard either.)
I think your top five is pretty good. I might take Katie smith out, Have Tamika at the 2, tina at 3, Lauren at 4 and LL at 5....I don't like her, but she's great (and she knows it.) Although my guess is soon that it will be
Whalen
Taurasi
Beard
Catchings/Cash
Jackson.
Once again players aren't the right positions, but there are two guards, two forward, and one kind of guard/kind of forward there.
