Ok, I was kidding about making a reservation this early, but I tried and guess what...no rooms available. Not a single room available for July 9.
Anyone wanting to make the trip had better check out nearby hotels.
Bummer...

Yeah, they've been sold out for at least 3.5 weeks ago when I first checked... Apparently, the Mohegan Sun selling out is a rather common occurrence. If you check out the schedule, there are no rooms available whenever there's a big show/event in town. Confused You would think that they would have an extra tower in the works, but no.

Don't know how you got a room there last year BCBG... Guess you were lucky, lol Wink I mean they have a 10,000 seat arena but only 1356 rooms? Shocked That's over 7 to a bed! That's a lot even for MTV...

Too bad, I was going to get a lux suite too... Confused Quite reasonable compared to Vegas..

Oh, can I guess too?? LOL!! It's not surprise the league will block a few of those rooms...then again, the players need to stay somewhere (not to mentione the entourage of VIP's.

While we're on the subject, Hotels are getting scarce in Indy for the Final Four. A month ago it was already hard to find a good price.

Also the same reason why Mark Cuban is against having the NBA ASG in Dallas... Confused Well, maybe if I gamble enough they'll comp me a free stay in one of those 'Hospitality Suites' Shocked

Ok, so no ASG for me. That place will be like a zoo, but it's going to be fun.

Could I pick the brains of any ASG veterans? Will there be stuff to do during the days leading up to Game Day? It seems to me I remember that has been the case in the past, and if I am going to make my way up there, I certainly do not want to miss any of the "zoo" or the "fun".

Thanks for your input and suggestions.

in a word, yes. hard to tell how much they'll invest in it because it's different each year. apart from the auto sessions and such, there are also usually some community-oriented activities planned around the asg, which, if you're alert, you can find and see players in a more natural habitat, as it were. stuff like fitness clinics and dedications and such around the hood. (it'll be interesting to see what will constitute "the hood" this time around . . .)

There's a Ramada up the road about 5 minutes. Not bad at all, was $70/nt AAA last summer.

Might I suggest some visitors consider a board junkie hotel?
