Also, Purdue forward Natasha Bogdanova is on the Russian U19 team. Nice to see some other college players representing their countries.

Nice to see that. BTW, Matty, I've read a few features on Purdueb players on collegesports.com lately - (the only place to get wcbb news right now that I can see) and was gonna post them, but being your team is one of the better represented teams on these forums I didn't want to feel like I was stepping on anyone's toes.

I'm finally getting dierect tv, so I'll be seeing a lot more of the Boilers this year. I wish someone would televise the u19 tourney - that'd be sweet to see.

Point guard Yari Escalera of the University of Colorado led Puerto Rico w/ 14 points as PR came from behind to defeat the Democratic Republic of Congo 53-51 on Friday.

Bogs is leading Russia in scoring and rebounding.

Good news for Purdue, who needs Bogs to be a little more aggressive and to sure up her fundamentals. She turned the ball over too much last season -- mostly on unforced errors. An injection of confidence is going to do wonders.

"Escalera is averaging 16.7 points per game, leading Puerto Rico and ranking fifth overall for the tournament. She has hit 8-of-20 from the 3-point arc (.400) and her eight 3-point field goals ranks third overall in the tournament. Escalera also ranks third in free-throw percentage hitting on 8-of-9 attempts (.889)."

Professor ... Sorry I keep hijacking your thread, but I figure it makes sense to keep the U19 messages together ...

Russia beat Serbia-Montenegro last night in overtime. Bogs led all Russian players with 20 points before fouling out. She shot 8-13, added 8 rebounds, a block and an assist.

Australia needs to beat China to finish top of Group B... otherwise they're fucked (hello US in the first crossover game).

Future WNBA All-Star Renae Camino is 4th in scoring after four preliminary games with 16.3 a game. She's also #3 in defensive rebounding, despite being only a 5'10" guard.

Praise the deities - we beat China 77-66. Renae the ledge had 22 points and 7 rebounds. MacLeod had a valuable 16 points. Boxscore is here. We finish top of group B and now play Serbia-Montenegro in the first crossover game.

No aplogy needed mattty. I would however prefer "pc" or "chaos" to "professor" as - shocking as i'm sure the news will come to you - i'm not a real professor. Heck, I don't even play one in real life. OTOH, chaos plays me like an angel would a harp on a daily basis.
