How do you foul out in only 15 minutes of play? That's lack of focus and effort if you ask me...

That woman has some nasty elbows, too. Was she upset that Katie started? I actually like when Katie and Chantelle play together, so hopefully it is not something immature on Anderson's part.

Chantelle has always been foul-prone. I think it is a lack of focus, or maybe discipline, that mostly comes from trying too hard, or being frustrated.

She might have been upset at being replaced in the starting lineup -- I have no idea about that -- but it's certainly not the case that she's never in foul trouble and suddenly got into it last night.

Does anyone have the stat of who fouls out the most? Cause Chantelle is at least top 5 if not the 1st place person.

She does seem a little foul prone however she is essentially a Rookie. She is a far sight more talented than I thought. She goes seem to be trying too hard.

Make no mistake about this SASS team. They are better than advertised. So I think the verdict is still out on her.

But she does like to foul doesn't she???

Before the season began, the all-time record for number of disqualifications in a season is a 3-way tie between Isabelle Fijalkowski with 7 for Cleveland in 1997, Lisa Leslie in 200, and Lisa Leslie in 2002.

Tonya Edwards had six for Minnesota in 1999.

Chantelle currently has five, which puts her tied with "many" for third place with a lot of basketball left to play.

The record for fewest minutes with a disqualification:

5 - Sharon Manning, July 26, 2000 (Miami at Detroit)
7 - Rusia Brown, July 24, 1999 (Cleveland vs Utah)
8 - Asjha Jones, June 28, 2002 (Washington at Portland)
8 - LaTonya Johnson, August 9, 2002 (Utah vs. Los Angeles)

Lack of focus explains her lack of rebounding. She has the talent to be much better than she shows.

Chantelle is tied with Cheryl Ford for the league lead. Each has fouled out of five games. 30 players have fouled out of at least one game.

I love that second list, with the most minutes per fouls. Some names on there are suprising, like Swoopes and VJ, who play pretty aggressive defense. Others, like Sue, I'm not surprised. As soon as a player gets beside her (as in, no longer in front of her) she pulls up her hands in a 'I didn't touch her!' pose and lets the player get right by her. I can't complain - fewer fouls means more minutes on the floor for Birdy, and with shot blockers like LJ and JB in there you can get away with it some.

But go Sheryl, you know? All those steals but not that many fouls. That woman just continues to amaze me. Great stat Reb.

A more cynical person might suggest that some of the names on the second list fall under the "protected species" category, but I'm sooo not cynical so well done to all those players for their generally clean, rule-abiding play Smile
