Well according to a magazine article I read, Taurasi is at least an inch and a half shorter than her listed hight (6'0) And when they stood next to each other Diana looks to be about a half inch to inch taller than Deanna..So that would make Nolan 5'10 at the most..

yeah....but BCBG already said that she is 5'10 and has stood next to Deanna who is taller...so I'm going with taller than 5'10 for Deanna. Wink

Re: Tari

If it helps anything there, her ABL card lists her at 6'3".

When is this league gonna get its stuff together when it comes to the stats?

Not to ask stupid questions, but does it really matter?

It would have been spectacular at 6' or under. I don't think the exact dimensions really would have mattered!

I find it frustrating that the people who are supposed to keep this sort of information can't get it straight; that's my involvement in the matter, as a full-fledged Geek.

DTS, I think the point here is how are we supposed to believe what's in the players' profile if dot clueless' info isn't reliable?
You can change your mind about a lot things, but height ain't one of them.

Better yet, why does the team roster have different heights for players than the players' own profiles???

If I wanted these fictional numbers, I would read Bush's job growth report and economic outlook.

I guess; I don't take the whole profile thing that seriously myself, so I guess I just don't really get why it's so important. To each their own; I'll back out of this thread gracefully.

I just think height inflation is silly. It's not a big deal, Nolan has incredible hops indeed, but why NY is the only team who likes to shrink their players (as I'm pretty sure Wauters is at least 6'5") is even sillier.

Ann Wauters is slightly taller than Baranova....unless Elena is 6'4 & Ann is 6'6. Watch them when they stand side by side...they both slouch too!

so if the Libs had a "fan handbook", they would list you at 5'7"? Wink

Wauters might be 6'6". Using the first person comparison that I prefer, I took my brother to a Rockers game in 2002 and he flagged down Annie afterwards to tell her that he liked the way she played. He stands 6'3 3/4" and she was at least a good 2 inches taller than he is.....according to what he told me. I was busy failing, as usual, at an attempt to get Penny's autograph so I didn't see the 2 of them standing next to each other.

Maybe Ann grew... She was 19 when she came to came to the Rockers, and has been listed as 6'4" ever since. Idea

She was listed @ 6'0 when she played at Georgia

I say she's 5'10.

Re: Ann - anybody seen her next to LJ or Lisa Leslie, legit 6'5s? I don't know about Baranova.

she has had plenty of matchups vs. LL. They look awfully close but are usually posting one another up so it's hard to tell for sure.

If I remember correctly, that was an EX Mercury player, one Kayte Christianson. And I'm not buying it.

The Storm hand out two cards at each game, the league collector's card with all the action shots on it, and a slick sheet with the schedule on the front, and team rosters and news bits on the back.

There are discrepancies - and often large ones - between the height and weight listings on each roster for about 25% of the players. Drives me nuts.

It's pretty obvious she's not when you see her next to Penny Taylor who is a legit 6'1".

actually, going back to your point about Wauters...I'm probably wrong but it seems like her height and weight have been the same since her rookie year. I suppose that's possible....but muscle weighs more than fat and although she's slimmed a bit, well, she's rail thin, she's also visibly more muscular than she was last season so I'd guess she's a little heavier.
