Deanna Nolan's attempted dunks during the WNBA All Star Game were impressive, mainly for her ability to elevate. But how tall is Ms. Nolan?
According to Ann Meyers' recap on ESPN.com, Nolan is 5-9.
According to Nolan's player information page, she is 5-10.
According to the Detroit Shock roster, Nolan is 6-0.
Hmmm...
More Nolan...in 2002, 2003, and 2004, Nolan attempted the EXACT SAME number of three-point baskets: 114.

I looked it up when I wrote my article and it said that she was 6' tall. |
But where did you look it up? As my original post stated, even WNBA.com gives conflicting information about her height.

She tried to dunk it twice? That's what your article says, I didn't know that. I read she tried with 28 secs to play, when else did she try? How close was she to making it? Does anyone have a photo? argghhh why couldn't we get this game on TV

GoLib, I met Rachel Ostrowitz and her head coach(?) at the game. Very nice people. Gave my daughter a bracelet in Hebrew and English from their team. They were sitting with Cheryl Ford's mother and were so excited about Tweety's dunk attempts.

The game was on TV ABC. She tried at the end of the game twice. She just needed a little more height. Both teams gave her an open lane to try it a third time before the clock ran out but decided to take a 3-point shot. She later said, that her legs were weak.

The first dunk she just needed to put some more force on the ball it was much closer then the second one. I figured her legs was weak.

I switched on NBATV this morning and caught the last 5 minutes of the ASG. They may replay it again. Hope this helps!

NOooooo, Deanna Nolan is definitely taller than Elaine Powell. That image doesn't prove anything because Elaine is in the foreground and will obviously appear taller than those in the background. Hell, by that photo, EP looks taller than Barbara Farris!

She's 5'10 at the most - she is shorter than DT. |

Dude, if she's 5'10" and can dunk, then she's the best athlete in the world. From what I recall, she looks more like she's 6'0" to me, she's taller than I am and I am 5'10". She's definitely taller than that. And also, Tari is not 6'1". She's at least 6'3", so no need to play the undersized card.

I think she is a great athlete. I remember seeing her at AWA last year and she was shorter than DT (who is a legit 5'11"). |

I would guess Taurasi is 5-11. It is hard to tell because we usually see her sitting down (and standing next to her parents, everyone looks tall). Plus, when she does stand up, she slouches.

I think Taurasi and Nolan are about the same height, I stood up next to them and it looked pretty much the same.
Obviously, they are wearing tennins shoes and all, but still, don't think Nolan is that short. She could be slightly taller than Taurasi, but Taurasi is obviously bigger.

I questioned DN at 6'0.....was thinking 5'10 myself but if you are 5'10 and she is taller than you are...well, that's all I need to say my guess was wrong. Even at 6'0, you need some very serious springs to get up there. If not, a LOT more 6'0 men could dunk...which most can not.
I definately agree with Tari being taller than 6'1. That's my height and I had to look slightly up at her when she walked past me at Gund Arena a couple years ago.

Well according to a magazine article I read, Taurasi is at least an inch and a half shorter than her listed hight (6'0) And when they stood next to each other Diana looks to be about a half inch to inch taller than Deanna..So that would make Nolan 5'10 at the most..
