Weather forecast folks is for scattered thunderstorms. If that's correct, I have NO idea what they are going to do with the Fan Fest! I can't believe they'd move it into the arena (ticket control issues) but I can't think of anyplace else that could hold it!

Anyway, my other thought was if it does rain, that could be a chance for an afternoon get together (if there is no fan fest of course).

While we still have to iron out the plans, Jersey & I should be there around noon or 12:30. I had hopes that it would be sunny. I'd like to go to the pool for a bit. What was that room number again Jersey?? LOL!!!

If it rains, we'll come up with a place to meet or something to do. I'm sure Krazy Kops will be in the cards Smile

Looking forward to seeing you again DTS!!!!

Some of us can't play the slots, and would be forced to find other amusements, such as attempting to sneak into the arena.

Why do I have the sudden image of a big-ass canopy spread over the garage roof? But seriously, if they have to cancel, that would blow. That's part of the All-Star fun. *wields Sharpie*

Keep those Sharpies ready! Don't forget there are usually "other" players there too. I remember in 03 I got Marieeeee and Jen Azzi from the Reebok booth. I may just bring an extra set of cards with me...

Collectors- should we incorporate sale/trade into the meet-n-greetage?

Here's the response I received from my ticket rep at the Sun:

Question: Out of curiosity, what happens to the fan fest on top of the garage if it rains?

Answer: To be honest, I do not know. Since it is a league event, any call to have the event, move it, or cancel it is up to the league. Anything with regards to the all-star game is league run, and we just follow their
orders.

I just checked the weather report. Thunderstorms seem like they're going to be intermittent (of course I don't think I feel too comfortable being on the top of a parking garage in thunder and when there's lightning... ).

Maybe they can just move it down a level to the parking level right below -- it'd be covered, right?

At the fan fest two years ago in NY they had some VERY TALL games/exhibits. Not sure how even a 10' hoop would play out inside the garage.

http://www.cnn.com

check out the projected path of *Cindy*

bad news is it's on a direct line to Uncasville...good news is that the weather forecasters NEVER get that stuff right! I'm guessing the storm with take another turn and pull all the bad stuff out, leaving bright sun, blue skies and comfortable humidity. Very Happy Very Happy

Enjoy the ASG everybody!

i would be shocked and appalled if they didn't plan on having canopies and such. but maybe i will be shocked and appalled. didn't it rain for a time in orlando, when everything was outdoors?

if i were still collecting autos, i'd just bring a nice, new leather wnba ball.

on another matter, will you new york folk set me straight on how long it takes to drive up there? i'm leaving from jersey city. i was told 2 to 2-1/2 hours. for some reason i had 4 hours stuck in my head. a little help, please?

I would say 2 1/2 hrs for you it's about right! It's about 2 hrs from my house in New Rochelle so add Jersey City to that. It's almost straight all the time, very little margin to get lost.

Local forecast just said partly sunny, 80-85. Let's hope they're right, just this once.

casino of the sky? cabin in the sky? something of the sky! i know there's a something of the earth and a something of the sky, and i'm favoring the latter, but i'll check out both. if they're broken down even further, it's new to me. i saw a photo of a "monopoly" slot machine - looked intriguing. i've only been on the res once, when the liberty org graciously bused us up there for the playoff game. i remember trying very hard not to look at the casino action. also wanna pop into the sports book and dally a bit with the ponies. going up friday in time for the open practice, staying till sunday a.m. (and hoping i have some energy left for that forró/feijoada/caipirinha party at s.o.b.'s).

krazy kops?

This morning, I booked my supervisor's flight to Connecticut. One day, my trip to the All-Star Game will be in the company's budget...or at least I'll have an income to pay myself Smile

You guys be nice to Dawn Staley.
