Only 14 nationally televised games this season...is that down from the previous years? |
I count 21...

6 on ABC, 13 on ESPN2, and 2 on ESPN (the first there since 2002).
That's the most since ABC took over the contract from NBC, and about the same number as there were from 1998 to 2000.

BCBG, your team is even farther from home than mine! I have the same problem with the schedule. I usually take a week or so in July. Last season the Fever had four home games in eight days (or something like that) Their schedule isn't good for me this year and it conflicts with PHX which also doesn't have enough weekend home games.
I hope to spend the second week of July in Indy (for three games) and drive to the all-star game from there.
The Monarchs have a great schedule for me but I'm not fond of the drive - people are crazy on interstate 5!

.... I know you've done the drive from LA LA land to PHX.
Whats the drive like & how long of a drive is it ?
The Lynx do a Phx/LA swing which is tempting me.

Both drives are just under 400 miles. It's 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 hours depending on traffic and rest stops. I prefer the drive to PHX,(less traffic) but the drive to Sac is much more scenic.
For you, NWA from Minny to PHX and then SWA to LA and back to PHX (to get your return flight) would probably work best.

What is the drive time between LA & Sac ? Never been to Sac before.
Thanks for the tips ! I'm going to have to get to planning.

Drive time is basically the same from LA to PHX or LA to Sac. People drive WAY too fast on I5 (on the way to Sac) I swear when I was coming home from a playoff game last year I was up to 90 mph and some psycho was still right on my tail!
I like the Sacramento fans. It's a fun environment - not quite PHX, but they have everyone beat.
If you really want to have fun, go to Sac when they Play LA!

Mercury fans are so funny about the refs.
Granted, I've seen some pretty bad officiating there (remember towards the end of the season - the place almost rioted!)
On the other hand, even perfectly good calls are hotly contested by the fans.
You can't say Mercury fans aren't loyal!
