Oh Lord. He just said "You miss 100 percent of the shots you don't take," not once, but twice. It's painful.

At least Brendan seems to know the names of the players. He actually sounds more like a fan of the women's game. I can deal with that.

He seems to be having some trouble with Haynie. Laughing

i maintain that the libs have to control their own destiny first.. focus on the wins...if other teams help you out by improving your standings...great...its gravy...but each team is responsible for mashing their own potatoes...

Mispronouncing is one thing. How many times have you heard an announcer call out the names of players and coaches not even in the building. That's bad, but sadly it happen more than it should

I at least enjoy that he was enthusiastic and seemed to have an idea of the players and their games, a little bit of attitude, and perhaps a little too much idiocy, but that will happen.

But more basketball oriented, geez that DeMya Walker is good. I've liked her ever since her days with the Fire and it's great to see her as a go-to player. She has such a great range of post moves, finishes in the clutch, and is great defender with long arms. When Yo is gone, I hope to see Walker as the face of the Monarchs, surrounded by a very capable young arsenal of guards.

He was on DeMya Walker about walking, she's walked enough today, she doesn't need a ticket, she's already walked enough to be back in Sacramento Smile

The announcers were kinda getting on my nerves with the names, but it's not as bad as it used to be a couple of years ago. At least these two knew that Ticha wasn't Tisha. But Hiney and Hamchetou were WAY off! Oh well, those two didn't play very much, so it wasn't too bad.

Great defense by the Monarchs, again though, their second half offense left something to be desired. Powell struggles for the second straight game, and the announcers didn't hesitate to point that out. Didn't I hear that Powell was 1 for 100 at some point?

DeMya Walker was solid today, she did a little bit of everything. She has been the offensive standout the last two games. In the first half of the Conn game, they couldn't stop her either. She's taking some pressure off of Yo in the scoring department.

I wasn't happy to see Buescher in street clothes, I hadn't heard that she had been moved to the IR. If Whiz was gonna make an IR move I was hoping that it would be Maiga for Feifei. Not, Buescher, who has played well, for Scott. We'll see what happens I guess.

It's definitely improved. That guy who used to say Dim-ya Walker is gone.

Hey Jersey! I'm surprised anyone was still watching on TV after 8 minutes (when the score was 24-7). I gotta hand it to the Mystics; they have shown they do not quit. They clawed their way back in, and it would have been terrific if they could have pulled it out; at least they made a game of it. I love Sacto, it hurts when they play us, but they sure are good. Walker was on fire today. What a lot of talent on that team. And having watched Kara Lawson in high school, it's just so neat to see her on a successful pro team. No offense to Seattle fans, but I do hope Sacto wins the West. (And thanks again to NY for making Richie available.) Smile

PS: I like Brendan Haywood. At least he talks about the game that's going on, and for the most part, he knows what he's talking about. And he could be spending the summer at the beach..... (I agree, tho, you should only say "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take" only once a year!)

Wasn't that Rob Stone doing play-by-play for NBC (with Ann Meyers as color commentator)? I remember hearing him say that at least three times in a broadcast in 2002.
