hahahahahahaha! i dunno, bcbg. she looks pretty scary right now. only thing stopping her is she's still short on conditioning.

Why? She's going to be the WNBA's Shaq. No one that size has ever done what she's done already in her first 15 minutes, statistically or athletically. Detroit is right now SO strong it's going to take a miracle collapse or a major step up for Leslie and Holdsclaw to knock them off. Compare them to Seattle and when you stop laughing you might have a day left to shop for Christmas._________________ Every woman who has ever been presented with a career/sex quid pro quo in the entertainment industry should come forward and simply say, “Me, too.” - jammer The New York Times 10/10/17 |

what's really cool is braxton is soooooo enjoying this, grinning from ear to ear. sfo said at the half she's a "monster" and she's determined to work hard. she looks like she likes what's she's feeling right now. good for her.

Yeah, she's living up to the hype. Many felt like if she wants to work hard, she can make this game look easy._________________ (¯`v´¯

I just think it's way too soon to declare her ROY with one half of a game played when you have another 33 games and 67 halves to go.
And the WNBA's Shaq is not her...that's Hayden. Stay tuned.

She's well on her way ... 50 percent from the line.

Braxton had a terrific game.
I still would not have drafted her had I been Phoenix: she's still a gamble. With his frontline, BL can afford to gamble. With their poor post performance last year, Phoenix could not.
The Margo trade was a gamble, too. In the preseason game vs. Minnesota, it looked like it might have paid off. Today not so much. I forget who said last year that if Margo were less than 6'6" she wouldn't have bothered to play basketball at all, but I agree. No energy, no effort, no sense of where the ball is nor of where it's going.
The real story of today's Sun-Shock game, for me, isn't "hey, Braxton's good": it's Nolan and Powell working very well together, pushing the tempo, keeping everyone involved, and making Whalen/Derevjanik/Douglas look, by comparison, slow, indecisive and error-prone. (That and Margo not working.)
Upside: the Sun look much better today than they did on opening day last year!

Well CON didn't really give up much to get Margo (CON's 1st round pick is going to be low), so I think it was a great trade. The Taj/Margo combo reminds me a lot of the Natalie Williams/Margo combo in Utah, and the Starzz did quite well without having to depend on Dydek playing like an All-Star. Asjha Jones should be a great backup, but CON still needs more of them to compete with the other stacked teams...
If I could have seen Braxton at that draft camp which she did so well in, I definitely would have drafted her. But based on the scant info available about Kara previous to that camp, yes, it would have been a big gamble to pick her
