After playing in the ABL and the WNBA for eight seasons, Rizzotti finally gave it up this past summer to concentrate full-time on the head coaching job she took at Hartford in 1999.

Rizzotti said she knew immediately she made the right decision to move into coaching while she was still playing in the WNBA. She poured herself into it so deeply that Hartford athletic director Pat Meiser-McKnett offered her the job full-time after the first season.



I wonder if Rizzotti even went to Detroit after the Dispersal Draft... Confused

But she has never said she has retired. I asked her last summer at a clinic and she said no she hadn't.

She needed to devote the coaching time when the season ran into the fall, unlike Staley who felt she could do both.

It will be interesting to see what happens this season.

Yeah - Rizzotti is due in April. While she has never officially announced her retirement, it would appear that she is done.
