Meanwhile, the arrival of Taylor and Vodichkova remains uncertain. It appears Vodichkova will join the Mercury before Taylor.

Vodichkova, a 6-foot-4 free agent from Seattle, has wrapped up her season in Russia, Sulka said. She went to Prague, Czech Republic, to visit family and take care of some personal matters. Sulka said she could arrive in Phoenix within a week to 10 days, but he wasn't sure whether she would join the Mercury in time for the opener.

Taylor, a 6-1 starter at small forward last season, is playing for a pro team in a best-of-five finals for the Italian League championship. No matter how long the series goes, Taylor, who averaged 13.2 points last season, figures to miss at least a couple of games.

Looks like Penny's late arrival is confirmed... Arrow

Meanwhile, familiar rebounding woes were often evident, especially in the first half when there were a lot of rebounds for the taking. The Mercury were 7 for 27 from the floor as a bigger Indiana (3-0) grabbed 21 rebounds, nine offensive.

"The scoring in the paint really killed us," said Graf, who said she will settle on a starting lineup sometime this week. "They've got big strong players in there. They scored not only in the post. But they did a good job of penetrating.

"That is something we need to address."

The answer might be awaiting the arrival of 6-foot-4 center Kamila Vodichkova and 6-1 small forward Penny Taylor. Both are in Europe and aren't expected to be with the team for at least Saturday's opener.

Her late arrival was actually confirmed a week ago, when Schio reached the finals.
As mentioned in the Penny Taylor thread, if that series goes all the way she could still be playing in Italy on May 25th.

Best case scenario is that they win in a sweep, in which case her last game is May 19 (meaning she would still be unlikely to make it to the Mercury season opener)
