This is an entire week old - eternity in cyberland - but definitely deserving of your watch, if you DIDN'T see it before.
SNL's 'cold open' segment paid her (and some FF factoids) some cool homage. 😎

Caitlin is smart and funny. Anyone who saw her on the "Manningcast" edition of ESPN's Monday night football last fall knows that. She proved that not only does she know football, but she could keep up with the Manning brothers' repartee. It was probably the best Manningcasst of the season. (She's a Chiefs fan, BTW.)

Mentioning Sheryl Swoopes first in her list of WNBA greats is an excellent choice. It should serve to bury any notion of resentment regarding Swoopes' comments about Clark earlier in the year.

It was a great choice? It lets Sheryl run her mouth without consequence. Sheryl is a vile person and how we've gotten to a point, after all her allegations, that she has a voice, is disgusting.

I didn't see this until Sunday. SNL isn't as fun as it used to be. Maybe PC killing it. In either case, this was good to watch. Too bad there were some sour grapes coming out of the woodwork._________________ If you cannot inspire yourself to read a book about women's basketball, or any book about women's sports, you cannot inspire any young girl or boy to write a book about them. http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/Richardstrek
Adding: Write Funko. The WNBA should have Pops. |

I think it more creates obvious separation between Clark and Swoopes in this interaction. Clark keeps to the high road, which by comparison makes what Swoopes said about Clark appear more low-road, and makes it harder for Swoopes to justify her position for the rest of her public career, if she has any desire to do so.....

The Indiana Fever joke really made me laugh.
Caitlin did well. Not super loose, but for a non-actor she wasn't bad.
As far as I can tell, Nancy Kerrigan, Rhonda Rousey, and Chris Evert are the only female athletes to ever host the show. Clark seems like a long-shot to add to that list, but if she can keep her spotlight in the WNBA it's possible.

Athletes often make bad SNL hosts. All three of the ladies you mentioned were exceptionally bad.

I laughed at that Indiana Fever joke.
But I also agree that she was a bit stiff in the delivery. Which is to be expected but it was definitely noticeable. |

She's not a natural performer. She would likely get better if she worked at it.

If you don't think so, you should have seen her on the Manningcast. She was smooth and very cool there.

It wasn't so much a criticism as just making note. Of course if she was working at it she'd likely get better. That wasn't the point. |
