I see the Nets fired their coach and some commenters brought up Becky. I know her name gets used as PR bait when it comes to NBA HC searches but it got me thinking about who Vegas would hire to replace her if she did get poached by the NBA? The Aces made a bold splash making her a big time hire. I imagine they wouldn’t just promote an assistant or hire a retread. I feel like they would try to make a power move and bring in another big name.

So who do they get? The biggest hire would be Dawn Staley, but could they lure her from SC? Who else comes to mind?

I was gonna say Laimbeer but I see he has no plans to ever coach again.

Former Aces HC Bill Laimbeer Explains Why He Won't Coach Again

So I think it would be some current WNBA assistant coach. Or a college coach with some prestige if they are fired at the right time or are "on the hot seat". Although having said that, the Aces owner doesn't hesitate to throw money around so he might be able to entice some coach near the end of their career to leave college.

First, why Kara Lawson? Duke is 17-9, No. 21 in NET rankings. It's not like she's setting the world on fire in the NCAA.

If you could get a college coach to leave, why would you pick her? Nicki Collen has a better ranking at Baylor and has WNBA experience.

As for Hammon, the NBA is a testosterone-dominated league, and I think they're a long way from seriously considering a female head coach. The female assistants are mostly virtue signalling.

Why, does Blake Dietrick need a job?

Good answer ...

But I only mentioned Collen because of the Kara Lawson reference.
