1Q: tie game, identical stats. Terps hanging. Fulwiley WOW drive, then charge, bench.

The SCarDozer revs up defense, 3pt shooting, rebounding, and PTTO's in the 2Q and goes up 12 at the half. UTerp with a lot of sloppy and stupid plays.

Dozer shifts into second gear and goes up 18 at the 3Q. Boston who?

Gamecocks on a 15-2 run now in the 4th. They have shot 5-6 from the 3-pt. line in the 4th, although both teams have shot well from outside today.....

CRUNCH! 114-76.

Peck says SCar should jump all the to #1. Not sure poll inertia dynamics will allow this, but it could be substantively true. They have the greatest centrifugal force in WCBB, a rainstorm of threes, rebounding, assists, defense, leapers, streakers, Magical MiLaysia, bench power (how many McD AA's does SCar have?). Seemingly ineluctable.

Gamecocks score 37 pts in the 4th period, largely from their reserves. Bench pts was in South Carolina's favor 55-20 for the game.

South Carolina wins 114-76. Very balanced scoring throughout the roster as seven (7) Gamecocks scored in double digits, led by Te-Hina Paopao's 14 pts.....

Gamecocks won the fast break pts battle 26-2 against a guard-dominant opponent. They had 53 rebounds, 30 assists, and only 10 turnovers. The free-throw shooting still could use some improvements.....

I think I agree. Two games is a small sample size, but they have beaten two Top 15 teams by an average of almost 40 points per game. That's absolutely insane.

South Carolina has been the best performing squad that I have seen this season. If there is a team out there that is better than them please let me know who they are.

At least I don't have to feel as bad about ND's loss to them... Wink

Well, LSU and UConn have both lost, and while Iowa is still undefeated, they had a close one against #8 Va Tech. SCar meanwhile completely annihilated two top 15 teams (and I'm saying that as a fan of one of those two teams).

IMO, there is no way that a pollster can look at the games to date and not make them #1.

At the time I mentioned poll inertia dynamics I was expecting UConn to win fairly easily over NCSt. I didn't think the pollsters would jump SCar over both Iowa snd UConn. Now that UConn was easily beaten, I personally think SCar should be #1, although poll inertia may still favor Iowa.
