Boston is the fifth unanimous ROY, after Parker, Charles, DelleDonne, and Wilson. Pretty good company to be in. All are MVPs, and all by Tina Charles have won more than once.

Omitting Arike is an easy choice. When your teammates tell you to stop shooting, that pretty much tells the story.
Nneka was so outstanding she couldn't be left off. Hope the Sparks rebuild while Nneka is still playing.
PS: Jewel Loyd's team also disn't make playoffs.

Loyd shot more often and less effectively than Ogunbowale despite playing significantly fewer minutes for a very bad team.

NOT being a (close) follower of this league, and certainly NOT a stat-head, I am hopefully allowed to ponder aloud how/why DeWanna Bonner was not anywhere on any voter's radar. |
There are 17 first team votes and 84 second team votes unaccounted for. I assume Bonner got some of those.

Just 7 first place votes unaccounted for, right?

Loyd led the league in PPG. And nobody on her own team told her to stop shooting their team out of games. |
Breanna Stewart skipped town. The Compiler retired. And Noelle Quinn was trying to keep her job. Who you thought was gon' check Jewell Loyd?

Really unfortunate this wasn't announced and award at a game like the other awards.

How anticlimactic. This thankless old-timer’s award should be the first to be handed out.

The WNBA doesn’t believe in giving guards nice things.
