A lower seeded Washington team has knocked a top seeded NY team out in the past. Hopefully with a best of 3 history won't repeat itself but not a big fan of the match up. This is a different NY team but Washington can match Stewart with EDD if she is 100% and NY's guards struggle with athleticism on the perimeter which makes Cloud, Sykes and Atkins all a challenging match up, Laney can only guard one of them. Jonquel Jones will be the X-factor.

Aces and Sky have met in the playoffs once before. The Aces won in the second round in 2019

Liberty and Mystics have met in the playoffs four times; 2000, 2002, 2015, and 2017. New York won the first three, Washington the last one.

Lynx and Sun have never met in the playoffs.

Dream and Wings have met in the playoffs once, in 2009 when the Wings were the Detroit Shock. Detroit won in the first round.

Having five days to rest also favors the Mystics. The many injuries to players are healing with rest. Also this team loves to be underdogs. As exemplified by going 2-2 with the Liberty in the regular season, this matchup might be the best one for the Mystics. Mystics overwhelming athleticism and defense in the backcourt exploits NY's biggest weakness.

Aces and Wings have met in the playoffs once before. In 2008, when they were the Silver Stars and Shock, they met in the finals. The Shock swept the SASS convincingly.

Liberty and Sun have met in the playoffs three times before. The Sun won in 2004 and 2012, the Lib in 2008.
