Interesting to read one where the team essentially wins. Most of the ones I've looked at in the past have generally been about players being screwed over. Also, while she wasn't going for the entire European season, Gray was only scheduled to make $110,000. That's significantly less than her WNBA salary. WNBA numbers may not be as high as everyone would like them to be, but they've risen enough now that there really aren't that many players making sums overseas that wildly eclipse their WNBA cash. If there's another big bump from the next CBA I could see increasingly smaller numbers of WNBA players bothering with an overseas season. |

Random question: Is there anyone likely to be at the U19 World Cup in Madrid next month who's really worth seeing? Like, proper signs of a real star have already been seen kind of players? Doubt I'm going to make two trips in two months, but a nice weekend trip seems plausible... |

My bias says Jadyn Donovan and Toby Fournier. An annoying number of top players seem to be playing. Possible players of interest would be Cotie McMahon, Juste Jocyte, Nyadiew Puoch, and Izzy Borlase. Maybe players like Leila Lacan and Matilde Villa if you do not see them with their senior teams. Not sure if Spain will have Awa Fam play up that many years but she is a talent. |

Malury is still in Australia on Lauren Jackson's team
Look at the top of this page for the two women's games for the boxscores (scroll left for earlier game)
https://alburywodongabandits.nbl1.com.au/games/385a5dd5-7474-11ed-b00a-f7a0a574b970
Some highlights:
This past weekend:
The Albury Bandits are heading to the playoffs. They played two games the past two days - one loss to Sydney and one win against Maitland.
In the Sydney game, Mal had 22 points on 11 of 20 shooting, 12 boards, 3 assists, 1 steal and *5* blocks!
In the Maitland game, Mal had 6 points, 7 boards, 1 steal and 1 block!
A bit earlier (July 8 )
Malury Bates lead her team in a 94-100 loss to Sutherland. Mal had 28 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and blocks. She was 14 for 16 in 2 point attempts (no 3 point attempts). She was named player of the week

So, Mal is doing fine - shooting, rebounding and blocking well and generally staying out of foul trouble.

On Russia - I haven't heard anything.

UGA's Malury Bates is currently playing in Australia for the Albury Bandits.
This fall three other UGA graduates head off to Europe:
Diamond Battles will play in Greece for GAC EUNIKOS
(Greece-A1 League)
Audrey Warren will play in Portugal for SPORTIVA/AZORISHOTELS PONTA DELGADA (Portugal-Liga Feminina)
and
Brittney Smith will play in Germany for GIROLIVE PANTHERS OSNABRUECK SC
(Germany-DBBL)
It's unclear if Kari Niblack will go pro since she is out of college eligibility.
Also uncertain, is what Alisha Lewis will do. I don't believe she's coming back to UGA for her Covid exception year and I haven't heard if she's going pro. I really wanted her back at UGA this year.

Wow! Very risky, but best wishes to her.

awhom111, what are the official FIBA Europe limits on foreign players in club games these days? I know it's not as basic as two non-Euros anymore, but I'm not certain exactly what it is. Primarily wondering if Lions can play Landrum/Meyers/Samuelson all together when Samuelson (I think) counts as naturalised rather than full British. |

Still the same as when you asked last year as far as I know
Karlie played EuroBasket 2019 qualifiers so she definitely got her passport before the club deadline. Reading the signing announcements, if Meyers has access to an Israeli passport, that would actually create room for another non-European. |

My apologies, I found the answer from when I asked before, an embarrassingly short amount of time ago .
I feel like this is probably the end of the spending for now, given they already have at least nine players who are going to expect minutes. And they'll want them in the games that matter, not just when they're winning by 80 against random WBBL teams. |
