I was rooting for her...but if your name's not EWill, defense is not enough.

Are they getting someone better? Cubaj wasn’t known for offense even in college

She's in Italy's EuroBasket squad. Cut her to avoid having to suspend her and carry the cap hit.

I presume she wanted to play in EuroBasket, yeah. Decent chance everyone has been in on this plan for weeks, so this was just when it played out.

With DRob out with knee injury and Ilana Rupurt's contract suspended, that leaves the with 10 players....I wonder who they'll get next...

The Dream pickup 5'11" Guard, Taylor Mikesel - who was an Indiana draftee this year. (Rest-of-Season Contract)

https://www.azdesertswarm.com/basketball/2023/6/6/23751310/arizona-womens-basketball-aari-mcdonald-wnba-atlanta-dream-injury

The Dream announced on Tuesday that McDonald suffered a torn labrum in last week’s 92-87 loss to the Aces. The diagnosis was confirmed by an MRI this week according to the team’s press release.

Well this isn't good. Both primary ball handlers are out with injury. Just saw that DRob is eyeing a July return

I wonder what the next lineup will be?
1. Gray
2. Howard
3. Jones

Who gets picked up? Henny maybe?

Rhyne Howard used to frequently initiate the offense in Kentucky.

Can she? Yes? Should she? At times maybe. Will she? Oh I hope not.

I thought Alyssa Thomas had taught us that torn labrums made you better, rather than taking you out for 3-4 weeks Wink.

Haley Jones has been the backup point guard since DRob got hurt, and done a reasonable job, so I imagine it'll go to her to start with and then they'll patch together the backup minutes. Makes the choice of signing Mikesell even stranger, but maybe that was in the works already before they knew about McDonald.

Yep, I believe they will go with Jones and maybe AD as her backup. But I have a feeling they will be doing a hardship pickup soon. Will it be post to replace Cubaj or PG to replace Hash Brown?

Maybe that only applies to shoulder labrums. I thought McDonald's was a hip?

I believe any historical standards MVP who is eliminated for MVP, because they are on a losing team, should be up for consideration for most improved. Collier, AGray, and ChParker should all be up for consideration. Aren’t all better than expected?

Makes it tough when you're trying to secure a nicer playoff seed. I'm sure the Dream would rather face the Wings than the Sun, Liberty, or Aces.

I don't think it matters. This year's playoffs are just a learning experience regardless of who takes us out in round one.
