Four star recruit Kaniya Boyd (5'9 G, Centennial HS, Las Vegas, NV), Nevada's POY, has committed to Tennessee. If I'm not mistaken, this is the same high school Rae Burrell came from.

Toby Fournier just committed to Duke! 6'2, can dunk. She was the #1 player I wanted while watching US vs World game. Non stop motor, outrebounding taller players, good touch around the hoop.

And a little nasty too. I wanted her badly for UConn.

Nasty in all the best ways on the court. By all accounts, she's the polar opposite of being a nasty person. Go Canada (& Toby Fournier) at Americup!

ESPN HoopGirls rating for Toby has risen to #10. I expect her to keep climbing as she works on her midrange shot (& maybe keeps growing).

Fournier continues to star for Team Canada. 15/14 vs China and 17/17 vs Czech Republic, both wins for Canada. Needs to work on free throw shooting, but a BEAST around the hoop.

Alonna Poole, 5'11 SF, Oakland HSm Hurfreesboro, TN

Angela Williams, 6'1 F, Shades Valley HS, Birmingham, AL

And 5 star recruit Kiyomi McMiller is making an official visit this weekend. JMUis on her top 5 list.

#26 Zania Socka-Nguemen, a 6'4 post out of DC commits to UCLA.

This is the 3rd commit from Sidwell HS.

UCLA now has the #14, #24 and #26 recruits in the class of 2024. And they are finalists for #6, #10 and #19.

Duke signed:
Toby Fournier 6'2 F
Jenessa Cotton 6'2 F
Ariana Roberson 6'4 F/C
Louann Battiston 5'5 PG

Filled all positions of need! I think Toby is still climbing the charts - certainly a top 10. Kara quietly building a contender.

Stanford signed three:
#40 Kennedy Ume 6'3" post
#44 Wrenwyck Ijiwoye 5'6"PG (goes by Shay)
#84 Harper Peterson 6'3" wing/stretch 4

and we still have some hopes for a couple of higher ranked players.

That's a really good class. UConn fans were dearly hoping for Roberson, since the team is lean in the front court this season and likely will be further diminished next season when potential AA Aaliyah Edwards graduates. Roberson took her last visit to Duke, which probably sealed the deal if it hadn't been sealed already.

Finally, we're back to Duke competing for top recruits! I was sitting two seats from Arianna and next to the friendly, focused person in charge of the full court press to land Arianna at Duke. Same person is the conductor of US National Team's visit to Duke Sunday.

Sitting in the same spot behind the bench during Duke's meteoric rise under Coach G. Ready. Aim. Fire. Swish.

2025 #3 Sienna Betts to UCLA. Bruins really putting together some nice back to back to back classes.

May snag another one with 2024 #6 Kennedy Smith announcing in 20 minutes. UCLA is on her final 5.

Southern California picks up 2 2024 recruits today:

#6 Kennedy Smith
#28 Kayleigh Heckel

USC had already recruited these 3 recruits in the 2024 class:

#26 Avery Howell
#53 Rian Forestier
#89 Laura Williams

Real nice supporting cast for Ju Ju Watkins in the coming years. Smith will be a great SF/PF for them and Heckel is the PG on the #1 ranked HS team in the country. (Smith is on the #2 ranked team). And Howell is apparently a sharp shooting off guard/wing. Great pieces to surround Judea.

I was looking for Mo Currie today - announced as being in attendance - and the woman in charge of escorting Arianna waved me down and air fived me about getting Arianna to Duke.

Some Carolina fans lamented they didn't get to see BG dunk today and I almost said "you'll get to see Duke recruits Toby and Arianna dunking next year!"

By the way, somebody listed the top 10 post players coming the next couple of years - both Duke USA commits made the list. I def expect Jenessa Cotton will be climbing in the rating services. I think Toby will be the best.

When does the early signing period end? Any clues as to when Strong and Cambridge will be announcing?

The NLI early signing's been over since Nov. 15. That doesn't mean Strong and Cambridge haven't committed to and accepted scholarships at a school. For two decades I've been of the opinion that top recruits should not sign NLIs. They are one-sided, favor only the school, and impose significant penalties on the player for breach. A top 10 recruit will have no trouble getting a full scholarship commitment to virtually any school from which they have offers without signing a NLI.
