Sorry but how the heck did Atlanta/Dallas get selected for the opening ABC game. They honestly should’ve just made it a single game instead of a double header.

The W has made some questionable scheduling choices for opening weekend.

I'm sure that the plan was to showcase two young teams featuring two of the young stars that the league is trying to build around. I can't imagine that they anticipated a game featuring this much youth and athleticism turning out to be a wet fart, in terms of being competitive/interesting, but anybody for whom this game happens to be their first impression of the league is probably going to walk away feeling underwhelmed.

Dallas leads 47-30 at the half. Arike, Satou, Natasha and Teaira all with really solid halves. Atlanta's shots not falling (only 28% in the first half).

McCowan left with a knee injury and will not return. Robinson also injured. Neither looked particularly bad.

I hear you and that’s all well and good you, me and the Atlanta and Dallas fans. We’re all already fans of the league and don’t need to be convinced.

I’m all for more content but I also want smart content that will help grow the league. I don’t think putting BG’s return game on at 11pm after an OT NHL playoff and opening your network slate with two mid teams that have no compelling storyline is very smart. I watched both but, again, I’m. It the one who needs to be convinced to watch.

They really should have made it to where BG’s first game was on Saturday afternoon so they could feature it on ABC because that is compelling tv that got buried by an OT hockey game and an 11pm EST start time.

The constant criticism of the league is that they don’t push storylines which is a big reason for popularity in the NBA. Dallas and Atlanta have zero storyline. Good for their fans and good for us for getting more games on tv but these games aren’t going to stay on tv like this if we have unforced errors like this.

Sabally/N. Howard is a great pair of forwards.

Atlanta doesn't have enough offense.

Dallas plays a lot better with McCowan in the line-up. Plus the Dream's shots are falling this half.

Looks like the same frustrating team as last year. Howard takes too many bad shots and McDonald spends 90% of the game doing nothing of note. Obviously we're not planning on winning anything, we're starting Nia Coffey, but I was hoping on a little more progress. Oh well, it's only the first game.

How much of this is on coaching? I feel like they're pretty unorganized out there.

I don't fuck with people who don't fuck with Mark Jones. Like, I get that he doesn't have any real WBB bonifides, but that guy's great. Lobo I'm ambivalent on.

Disappointing but unsurprising first game. Hopefully Alicia will contribute more and Billings will be back. Is there any offense in the players that were waived?

There's a two time scoring champ out there who's been vocal about wanting to get back into the league and is well liked by Dream fans...
