I've had one eye on the SC v. Tenn game and the other on the AU game....But I'm glad I was able to keep up. The 1st game was rough initially but it definitely tightened up as the game wore on. Team (Court) Williams played great team ball and won the 1st matchup in overtime. Odyssey led the other squad and truly was able to get to the lane anytime she wanted but gracious she played a lot of 1 on 5. I always looked at her as a combo guard, but I suppose she really is a 2. The AU vets, Izzy and Court looked great, as did newbies Nalyssa, Plaisance and K. Bell. It was good to see Clarendon back on the court again too.

AU Trivia:

Who hit the first 3 in AU bball history? Lexie Brown
What was the first (4th overall) overtime game in the league's second season? Team Williams vs. Team Sims in Season 2.

Team Cloud vs. Team Cole is starting soon, back to SC vs. Tenn

I thought I’d heard that, but I’m glad to have confirmation! Maybe this will get her another shot and she’ll finally break through and make a W roster.

Took me quite a while to realise that this 'Jamairis' person they'd been talking about was actually G'mrice. I'm not sure how it was pronounced in my head, but that wasn't it.

Seems like WNBA League Pass subscribers from last season are getting the games there. At least, unless they've somehow charged me for another season without me noticing.

According to last year's email when the Sky offered STHs a free year, autorenewal is scheduled for April 15.

If you have the Roku Channel (download app), search for Sports & then look for the Women’s Sports Network. They show the Live AU games for free. Also, other volleyball, softball, etc. right now it’s Team Williams vs Team Sims.

Just search for the Women's sports Network on your smart tv. It is available on different platforms. I am watching via Plex.

Unfortunately, I paid the $24 for league pass before I knew about this. 🤷‍♀️

The first-ever network to focus on female athletes, the Women’s Sports Network, launched Wednesday, offering 24/7 streaming of original programming, competitions, documentaries and a daily studio show “Game On.”

The Women’s Sports Network is a free, ad-supported network featured on streaming services including Amazon.com’s Freevee, Fox Corp.-owned Tubi, FuboTV and smart TVs. The new network comes at a time when investment and viewership numbers for women’s sports are on the rise, yet women only receive a small fraction of media coverage.

In searching for info on the Women's Sports Network I came across a website called Just Women's Sports:

Great balanced attack from Team Sims today resulting in the highest point total in AU history! This game against Team Cole ended with the most threes hit in an AU game (28 total).

Game 2 at 8:30 should be a good one: Team Williams vs Team Cloud!

Live Access is carrying the game right now but the Women's Sports Network, at least on Tubi, is showing a skateboarding competition.

Jessica Kuster (Rice 2010-2014) thinks there is more talent this year. Says the benches are a lot deeper.

Such a great day for women's basketball (lots of drama in the WCBB conference games!!), topped off by an OT + 7pt ELAM game between the Team Harrison vs. Team Sims! It was a great back and forth with Izzy fouling out in the ELAM, Ty Young (Sims) and Kirby Burkholder (Harrison) with great plays late in the game, and Courtney Williams (Harrison) hitting a clutch floater to close out the game. Odyessy and her squad did everything they could to end the week undefeated but came up short completing week 2 with a 2-1 record and Team Harrison (1-2) would not be denied! The Week 3 draft is at noon tomorrow.

Today is the final week of AU. Games start at 6PM on League Pass. If you tuned in the 1st week and weren't intrigued, please give it another try. Know that the 1st week is like a pre-season which never looks particularly great for any league...at any level.. However, the intensity has greatly increased over this short season.

Happy Hump Day, all!!

Cool

Entertaining games tonight! Next games are on Friday.

If there is anyone in here from the league, the firestick app update sadly is glitchy and worse than it was before Crying or Very sad

AU has come to an end. Nalissa Smith won the top spot with Naz Hillmon coming in second.

I enjoyed the season, just wish it didn't overlap with March Madness.

Congrats to the winners, looking forward to next year!
