Rutgers is ATROCIOUS. CViv should be held criminally liable for what she did to that once great program. First, she stayed about ten years too long, then when she finally stepped down all the good coaches were already hired, so they hired Coquese, who was a disaster at Penn State.

Coquese wasn't anything close to a disaster at Penn State. She was hired as head coach in 2007 after Rene Portland retired. Coquese took over a program that had suffered back-to-back losing seasons and it took Coquese 2 years to develop a winning program, as she recruited her own players. By the 2010 season, she had Penn State back in the NCAA tournament. She won the B1G three years in a row from 2011-12 to 2013-14 and advanced to the sweet 16 twice during that span.
In her 12 seasons at PSU, she had 5 losing campaigns, her first 2 years, her last season, and 2 seasons in the middle. She was in no a disaster.

Agreed about Stringer, but I’ll push back on Washington. I’ve heard from more than one source that the old-school boosters, the ones who think Paterno and Portland never did anything wrong in their lives, have been meddling, trying to push the program back to the kinds of people Portland would have approved of, right down to trying to enforce her “Training Rules”. Washington never stood a chance. I’d like to see her get a couple of years where she can actually recruit players instead of being left with the mess that the interim coach never bothered to clean up.
