Alabama: 17-6 (6-4, 5th in SEC)
Tennessee: 17-9 (9-2, 3rd in SEC)

Neutral So, uhh, how exactly is Alabama a 'joke' compared to Tennessee?

Look at their SOS.

So you’re talking about Bama’s SOS being a joke and not the team then, if I have that right.

Hmmmm.

Iowa loses this week to the #2 ranked team, and drops 2 spots. Okay.
UConn loses to the #1 ranked team AND an UNRANKED team, and drops 2 spots. Shocked That's not equitable. Let's see if the Coaches' Poll thinks otherwise tomorrow.

Interesting to note that the PAC 12 now has HALF of its 12 members in the Top 25.

Iowa had no business ever being at #5 to begin with. I think Iowa "dropping" is more voters just realizing retrospectively that they got a little too excited after their wins over OSU and Maryland. That win over OSU doesn't hold as much value now that OSU has dropped off quite a bit.

WTG PAC!! (which now does not have a # behind the conference title for what should be obvious reasons)

The middle/bottom teams of the ACC are, as expected, stealing games from the top teams in the league. Hopefully the tournament brackets take into account that most teams in the league are competitive against top mid majors- meaning that the teams who DO make it into the brackets are battle tested vs teams they will face 1st/2nd rounds.

I think the argument there was that UConn should have dropped *more* than Iowa did.

And, again, with there being more than one other "OSU," please specify, as in "OhSt," "OrSt" or "OkSt." Yeah, with both Iowa and Ohio State being in the BIG, and Ohio St having recently lost 4 out of 5 games, I could figure it out, but it would be easier to follow if we could be more specific. Thanks.

Somewhat meaningless. The rankings you don’t want are 8 and 9.

Oh me, oh my....can't wait to see!

The ONLY thing I'd bet on is SC remains at #1. All other bets are off.

All kinds of stupid voters in this poll, but the worst I saw was Lindsey Schnell (https://apnews.com/hub/ap-top-25-womens-college-basketball-poll?voter=Lindsay%20Schnell). Did she even check how teams fared this week?

From the top to the bottom:

Schnell moved up Stanford to #2 despite a pretty mixed week (won @Colorado by 11, lost @Utah by 6).

She has UConn third, moving them up 1 spot after a pretty bad week (loss to St. Johns at home, close win @DePaul).

Moved up Iowa (up 2 spots) past Indiana (down 3 spots). I guess because they beat Indiana by 1 point @Iowa, completely ignoring Iowa's 28 loss earlier in the week @Maryland and Indiana's thrashing of Purdue by over 20. I mean Purdue is not very good this year, but Indiana clearly had a better week than Iowa.

Wait, that's not all! She left Utah at 8th despite their great week (beating Stanford by 6.

And she dropped Maryland 3 spots to 10th after a remarkable week (thrashed Iowa by 28, won @OSU by 2.)

But what about Iowa State? They lost @Oklahoma St by 5 and killed TCU. I know, let's have them jump up 8 spots to 12th.

Did she even check scores to see what happened this week? This is pretty serious dereliction of duty.

Laughing Laughing I don't think I could bear to see each voter's selections....I'd blow a gasket. Razz

It's a bit ironic that Indiana remained at the same place, while Iowa dropped 1 spot after beating them - obviously, that was the MD factor in the net result. I'll be curious to see what the Coaches' Poll does.

Love how Maryland destroys Iowa's defense and gets a big rankings bump because of it, then Iowa returns the favor to OSU and gets an even bigger bump.

The B1G is *great* this year, but I feel that the poll has gotten a wee bit carried away now. Keeps benefitting the top 4 teams for beating each other without dropping them in return when they have a bad showing.
