Massey has Duke a 5 pt road favorite. But are the Dukies peeking ahead to their next game?

That's what we fans are worried about. Look at the half court defense. If the rotations are locked in, then we win the game because our entire defense is dependent on players making the instant switch to a new assignment. With Duke playing passing lanes, they'll get steals/deflections, but also more players getting by them, necessitating the rotation to stop the easy bucket.

First vs Last in the ACC. Undefeated vs Winless.
And Last/Winless is leading by 1 at the half, 28-27.

Duke up 36-30, under 6 minue Q3. GT shooting has cooled off, closer to their mean. And Celeste Taylor gets her 3rd steal and score on the runout.

Duke defensive rotations have been right on point in the 2nd half. Between Duke defenders being in the right place and GT shooting returning to their mean, Duke is pulling away. Now up 54-43 8 mins to go Q4.

Stephanie White: "Duke's attention to detail on defense is elite." Yep. When every defender is locked in and rotating as a unit, that's what makes them hard to score against. It's a thing of beauty and they've all been locked in the 2nd half.

A GREAT way to go into matchup #1 against arch enemy North Carolina on Thursday! Second half Duke needs to show up in the first half vs UNC. Looking forward to renewing one of the greatest rivalries in the country. With both teams now having high caliber coaches, I expect this to be the first of many great games.

Duke is looking like they are progressing and growing with each game. They’re figuring out ways to get the win.
Not to take anything away from the DeBils with this last win, but I’m a bit surprised at the drop GT has taken. Granted Lahinen and Cubaj were long established pieces for Nell’s Belles but the still returned Hermosa, who isn’t staring at all and they had E. Love who last year was a double digit scorer but recently entered the transfer portal. The newbie hotshot transfers Jackson and Schwartz are now relegated to coming off the bench. Maybe Nell has realized the future is in the frosh; give them starter minutes to gain experience and to keeep them from jumping into portal.

The past two games, the Blue Devils have started the game "out of synch" with themselves and each other. In each game, they managed to get locked in at halftime and executed beautifully in the second half. If you're watching the game and see the opponent get a wide open bucket, then you're seeing the ABSENCE of Duke execution. Watch the defense closely when they are "on" and you'll see an almost choreographed unity of movement to seamlessly cover every open player by a different defender. The dancers have internalized the choreography and look like a well organized organism. When I say it's exciting to watch the defense, I'm not exaggerating!
Some call it ugly to watch. But, then, some will never "get" the most popular sport in the world: futbol (or soccer in the USA). Good futbol also involves a defensive system in which all the players move in unison, thus reducing the total number of goals scored. To really appreciate futbol, you have to watch the famous scorers when they're playing defense, in relation to their teammates.
I have no answers about Georgia Tech this season. Nobody saw them in the basement of the ACC, yet here they sit.
