An embarrassing first half for UConn, leading 24-23. UConn's half court and transition offenses can't do bupkiss against the Hoyas' defense, shooting 32% with a miserable 6/13 ATO ratio. If this continues, to be hyperbolic, it augurs Apocalyptic catastrophe for UConn against South Carolina.

Worse, Azzie Fudd seemed to re-injure her right knee from a slight lateral leg bump with a defender, limping back to the locker with the trainer. Between her recurrent knee and foot problems, Fudd unfortunately has been out with injury for much of the past four years.

Geno says many of his players "didn't show up" in the first half. Let's see what happens in the second.

Fudd has ice bags on her knee and will not return to the game.

Refs got a talking to at halftime to call game tighter & more on Georgetown! Don't they know UConn is #3!!!! They're calling every mf foul and UConn is the the bigtime beneficiary!
ex. #44 was still moving just now!!

3rd Q is typically UConn's quarter. This game keeping to form. 16-2 quarter so far to break the game open.

UConn up 44-31 at the 3Q, almost entirely due to serial Hoya fouling and points from the FTL. UConn leading 21-2 in FTMs.

UConn wins 65-50. Maybe no Apocalypse but this was really ugly.

Fudd was walking around the court after the game without any ice. Hopefully this is just a case of being cautious against an overmatched opponent. Hopefully.

The only positive was that UConn was 85% from the line. They pulled away in the 3rd period with foul shots after the refs remembered that hand-checking was illegal.
