Debbie going on and on and on about....anything except the game.
I do have to agree with one of her themes that Boston is much better/more versatile this year, which Debbie attributes to losing 20 pounds. Probably true.
As my blind friend said though at the end of 1st qtr, listening to Beth and Debbie, you would have thought SoCaro was ahead by 10 instead of a tied up game.

Kentucky has missed at least 5 layups, mostly uncontested.

Howard is 1-11. Ouch! But she is filling the rest of the stat sheet.

Howard giving reason to discuss whether she’s the real #1 pick. She does not show up for big games ….never has!

sadly agree. She always looks like she SHOULD be good, but pretty much always leaves me underwhelmed.

I think a change in coach, system, league, pace of play, etc *should* do wonders for her this summer. Will she flop? There's always that chance.

It's nice to have talent but it's nicer to exhibit it. She's like a Corvette taken out only on Sundays to show off driving at 35 mph.
More and more, she's looking like a sucker #1 pick.
When it she going to put out some effort? Pretty hard to change a life style of walking, jogging and staying away from the action, except for a play or two here and there.
Going to have to light a fire under this players ass in the WNBA.

In last season's #1 game against UK, Howard shot 13-25 and scored 32 pts with 7 rebounds in a 75-70 loss in Lexington. In Game #2 in Columbia - a 76-55 Gamecocks route - she shot 2-11 with both makes coming outside the arc, and scored 12 pts with 6 rebounds and 3 blocks. She was the only double-digit scorer for her team in that game, and also led the team in the other 2 categories.
For 2019-20, the 1st game that season was in Columbia, another solid win for the Gamecocks 99-72 - Howard shot 8-17 for 28 pts, with 6 boards. In the 2nd gm in Lexington it was closer, a 67-58 South Carolina win: Howard shot only 5-22 from the field, but was 12-14 at the free throw line, to score 24 pts with 11 rebounds.
In 2018-19 when the Gamecocks only went 23-10, the 1st game was in Lexington that SC won 74-70. Howard shot 7-18 for 16 pts and 3 rebounds. For the 2nd game - a 65-57 UK win in Columbia, Howard shot 6-12 for 17 pts and 4 boards.
So for 6 games entering this season against South Carolina, Howard shot 41-105 (.391) and averaged 21.5 ppg and 6.2 rpg. South Carolina was top-25 ranked for all 6 games, and was top 5 in the last 4 games coming into this season. Averaging 21.5/6.2 against top 5 ranked conference opponents may be what you consider as not showing up for the big games. Others may choose to disagree.....
